I'm going to go with liver failure as my guess.

RIP Pat. I grew up watching Giants games on CBS.

I'm going to guess that it was because he was 82.

RIP Pat Summerall.

Being with John Madden all those years im sure made him go to drink. Being a giants fan I really do miss hearing Summerall and Madden broadcast.

Great man, and contributed mightily to the enjoyment of football. No problem hearing his voice on televised games, and will miss it.

RIP Pat Summerall. Nobody had the ability to get legitimately confused by a play action like he did.

Before he was a broadcaster he was the Giants kicker . Also was great doing the USA Open for years.

Makes me feel old to think that there may be many who do not know of his life as a player and all of his wonderful teammates. Predates even my following UConn basketball.

Summerall was an alcoholic by his own admission and gave up drinking quite awhile ago.
I can remember the game when Summerall played wide receiver for the Giants and he wasn't bad, especially for a placekicker.

He had a liver transplant from a 13yo a few years ago.
