Other than Devin Robinson, Oubre is the recruit I most wanted. You can't knock a kid for choosing Kansas. What goes around, comes around. Deandre Daniels.
 
The writing has been on the wall for a good while now- of oubre to ku
 
Been saying this since he was first recruited...Oubre is the next big thing in basketball. Mark my words.
 
Once Hamilton committed here, I think we were essentially out of it.
 
I always enjoy seeing KenSucky get bypassed by a top recruit. Would have loved him as a Husky, but I think the DHam get took us out of the running. Let's gets us some Robinson.

It's Kansas's own damn fault. They branded themselves as KU. Don't know why they did that, but the price to pay is people not knowing the name of your university.

This is true... and it's probably because there was already another UK (Kentucky).

It's not as bad as when Kivon Taylor said that he committed to the University of UConn.

I feel the same way, unlike Kentucky and Duke.
 
No real surprise, once he decided not to visit Kentucky, knew it was KU all the way.
 
KU's going to have another monster recruiting class, btw - Oubre for one, and they're favorites for Turner and Alexander as well. That's three top-5 (top 10 at worst) players.
 
Good get for KU. I actually remember when we were leading in April and May, then we landed Hamilton (perfectly fine, he's IMO close to if not on par w/Oubre), and Oubre completely blew up in EYBL. Great player, always been a fan, and I'll root for him. As other people have said, I harbor little, if any, animosity towards KU. They're humble, unlike UK. For the record, I predicted Oubre/Turner to KU about 3 weeks ago.
 
If uconn wasnt in my blood id likely be a KU fan to be honest. Have always liked watching them and usually find myself pulling for them. Good for them and the kid i hope it turns out well for both unless we play them in march.

I really can't stand Self honestly although he has turned out to be a better coach than I anticipated. But at KU, like UK, UNC and Duke, you get the best and he should win ever more than he does! Not a KU fan here......think I would be a, hmmmmmmm.............can't even imagine not being a Husky fan!
 
Kansas will forever be dear to my heart with their gracious loss to Bucknell in 2005! First Bison NCAA victory!!!!:):):)

I don’t care too much for it (one-and-done) because if you look at it over the last couple drafts, the success of the guys one-and-done is few and far between. Every once in a while you find guys who can make it through. I’m more concerned about his education after maybe a two-year stint or three-year stint. How close is he to that degree and having a greater business mind going into the next level, whatever that is?” added Oubre Sr. “I think the first year in college as well as the pros, maybe two, is a learning curve. That learning curve can be cut considerably if he stayed and developed in college.”
 
Some of that seems fair, some of it not. I don't know if Cal "kicks you out", but I definitely think there are better places to play than Kentucky if you aren't sure you want to be a one and done. Like him or not, though, the guy gets the most out of his players regardless of whether some want to admit it. If your afraid of competing for minutes, Kentucky isn't the place for you.
