Just realized yesterday that I will be in Miami while the Orange Bowl is taking place. Been looking at tickets the last 24 hours and $350 each for legit last row is a bit steeper than I'm trying to pay (would much rather watch on TV at that point).

Does anybody have any experience waiting until a few hours/right before kickoff to purchase tickets to a big CFB game? I'd like to assume that each fan base is going crazy the first few days buying tickets and it will slow down, but always a risk I guess. And even though the ticket prices are fairly high, there seems to be an ample amount of options.

Had a similar opportunity while on a business trip to attend Georgia vs. TCU national championship game and same thing; it was $500 each for legit last row and thankfully decided to skip that beatdown. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

If your goal is just to get in there should be some cheaper seats available as the game approaches. As a comp, the Fiesta Bowl tickets were going for about the same price this far out but they were available for about $100 or less a couple days before. There were also empty seats in the upper corners and a few scattered elsewhere. Nothing you'd see on TV but it was not a sellout.

Just an fyi… I’m a PSU football season ticket holder and on our forum on on3 there is a ticket exchange. Based on comments on there, many people that requested tickets through the University got denied. There must have hasn’t incredible demand and tix were based on donation points. There is definitely more demand than supply on that ticket exchange.

Hoping for travel fatigue after this week and that champ game tix are reasonable
