OT - On U of L, the new KFC Yum Center deal, and the future of Tom Jurich

These UofL coaches need a reality check, ASAP! They are part of a state university. That university is beholden to politics, both local and statewide.

Jurich had to know that a deal in which the local residents of Louisville got badly fleeced was not going to stand for long.

If he can't understand the interconnectedness between a state university and state and local politics, he is a moron. And the coaches? Laughable.

Jurich got them into the ACC. Their future is forever secure because of him. That said, he is shady as all hell. Hiring Petrino back and keeping Pitino despite their public moral failings falls right in line with a school that provides hookers to their recruits.

They should jettison him, he has outlived his usefulness there.

Yep, and this "shady deal" let them argue that were a unbelievably well run athletic department. Even if the school has to pay market rent on a go forward basis (and I bet they won't) that shady deal probably secured their future.

I always thought "legitimate college campus" should speak to the academic improvement and signicant capital building/fundraising of that institution. Wow. This ones turned the definition.

"If we were an NBA team ... "

Clueless. You hear this from Syracuse fans as well. Townies infiltrate the fan base and lose sight of the fact that these aren't franchises. The AD actually is part of a academic institution. The UL AD led by Jurich raped the community in the original deal: now it's time for the post-op.

And he is massively in denial if he thought the original deal would be treated like a business contract that can't be changed. Louisville is a state university. Politics was always going to play a part.

They might as well have posted a photo of Rutherford waving his Louisville pom poms with that article.

The article sings the praises of Tom Jurich and they are indeed justified. Now that Louisville has secured its place in the ACC, they can begin to repair what needs fixin'. UConn has to repair what needed fixing looking from outside in, a very difficult task, and it appears now to be too late.
