Yes really. We went over this before.
The INTs were the main thing and the team wasn’t as good. But Allen individually was awesome the prior year. Last year Allen did away with all turnovers and led a supposedly rebuilding team to 13 wins, while still scoring 40+ TDs. Ravens were good but he added weapons including the best RB of the last decade.
So there’s no rationale for giving both years to Lamar. You can’t possibly claim Lamar deserves mvp both years. There’s also no planet where he deserves 3 MVPs over 5 years.
But as far as this year Lamar has stunk and Allen is working with zero passing weapons and still incredible. Stafford makes sense as a sentimental and team success pick. Maye has been good but he’s gotten every break known to man and hasn’t been the sole reason for their season. Though he’s been excellent.
This is a season where I’d understand a guy like Taylor getting it if the Colts kept their pace and he had some awesome season. But that hasn’t happened.
I’d go with Stafford but in reality I think Allen is far more valuable to his teams success this year than Stafford has been.
