How odd...I thought only the Boneyard was a place for creatively wasting time!!!

I would rate this product as just okay. It's kind of cheaply made. But it works better than the hammer I've been using to slice my bananas.

That has been circulating on Facebook for awhile. George Takei resurrected it today. Really, really funny reviews.

Love the photo of the unsliced banana in the bowl of cereal--needs a caption "Don't let this happen to YOU!"

I would be suspicious of anyone named Hutzler... Zounds like a big Huzzle to me...

I taught my kids early on to eat their bananas "monkey style." Now I find out that not only did I save time by not having to slice but I also saved $3.99 on a banana slicer.

Can't believe there are 3445 reviews for this....:D

just as amazing, this is model 571. I can't believe there are 570 previous models that didn't make it past beta testing.

Just started reading the reviews as you suggested, Nan--I've only gotten to the 5th one and I'm laughing uncontrollably...must stop reading...just one more...I'm in tears...
I'm crying with you. :D

OMG! I started reading the reviews, which had me giggling. THEN I looked at the customer photos. My 24 year old came running to find out if I was okay, he thought I was crying. Which, interestingly enough, I was. I tried to explain it to him but couldn't stop laughing, so I just showed him the pictures. Then the both of us were laughing hysterically. That was the best literally laugh out loud moment I have had in a while. Thanks!

There's an automated model called the Bobbit.

..which inspired Kenny Rogers to write a follow-up to his hit "Ruby". His second song is "Lorena, don't take my love to town."

Ha, pinotbear, now that's funny...except to Wayne Bobbit, of course...

I don't see why people like bananas so much. Once you get rid of the bone, there's not much left to eat.:)
Yeah. I think it was Artemus Ward who pointed out that the banana was mostly all cob, and the rest was kind of stringy and bitter. He was unimpressed.

I am really glad to see that the Hutzler folks have come out with the 571B. I have a 571A, which I have found somewhat tricky to use, due to a serious design flaw, the blades being mounted horizontally rather than vertically. The 571B is a great step forward. Kudos to Hutzler.
