Boston IT averaged 25 and 6, was a 2 time All Star (in 2 years), All NBA 2nd team, and finished 5th in MVP voting in 2017. It ended up not being sustainable, but that's a pretty great outcome for a player

I am aware of all that. He was also a sieve on defense.

Yeah he's awful on defense, but take a look around the NBA, bad defense doesn't keep you from being a star. The king of bad defense just won MVP

I thought the bearded wonder was MVP not LeBron
Just playin with you
Both JH and LB are train wrecks on D - JH is lazy and LB has decided to save himself for the offense because of his age
Both have produced some eye popping blocks from behind on layups but everyone can at that level has that ability

Brimah not getting as long a look as Blossomgame. Larrier's 2-11 from the field through the first three games. And what a first game for Hamilton!

Ok 22 and 8 for Knox. I didn't like the pick but I like those numbers for his first summer league game.

Looks like the Knicks had a heck of a draft. Knox has hall of fame level talent and Robinson could be a great defender/board guy.

The first drive and dunk by Knox in this video is filthy. Only 18 years old!

Two head-to-head games today -- Wizards v Spurs (3:30 ESPN2) give us Cassell v Brimah.

Grizzlies v Magic (9:30 ESPN 2) gives us Larrier v Purvis. We'll see if Larrier gets off the bench today.

Hassan Martin who was A10 DPoY under Hurley at URI in 2017 has been looking good for the Celtics. Was at the end of the bench for 3 quarters in their first game then scored 8 points and grabbed 3 boards in 3 minutes. Had a monster jam last night along with another solid night. Would not be surprised if he were a two-way player for them this year.

Awful day for former Huskies yesterday. Brimah played 1 minute and had 3 fouls, Larrier played two minutes and went 0-3 (now 2-14 on the summer). 4 players played a total of 8 minutes with no points, no assists, and two boards. Updates below:

If Daniel Hamilton puts in the work on his game and body he can definitely play and contribute in the NBA. Purvis maybe as a defender or change of pace/heat check bench guy. The others I don't see any realistic chance or NBA skillsets.

Brimah had 9 and 9 in just 16 minutes last night --- also 7 fouls (you get 10 in summer league). When he's gotten the minutes, he's produced.

Larrier got another DNP and has now played fewer minutes in Vegas (2) than Cassell (5).

Speaking of which, Cassell is the only former Husky in action today. Updated stats through 7/10 below:

Amida is the best out of our summer league crew.

Amida is an NBA level talent. Spurs would be stupid not to call him up this year. They have Costello, Bertans, and Lauvergne on their roster as big men. I would not take any of those guys over Brimah.

PS: Brimah has Clint Capella upside. You can't teach Amida's length, height, athleticism, and defensive potential.

He had 7 fouls in 16 minutes against bench players on teams where there are basically 0-2 NBA starters per team to begin with.

Not a huge NBA fan, but have a soft spot for the local Knicks and man, have the two picks played well:

Knox: 23.3 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2 apg, 1.3 spg
Robinson: 11.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 3 bpg

Allonzo Trier impressed too: 17 ppg, 6 rpg, 3 apg, 1.7 spg

Trier was abhorrently bad the first two games but took the blinders off last night and realized he does in fact have teammates he can pass the ball to.

Knox was a steal. The kid passes the eye test with flying colors, just like Tatum and Mitchell did last summer. I'd be surprised if he didn't lead rookies in scoring given that Porzingis will miss most, if not all, of the upcoming season. Maybe Trae Young will out-volume him and score more. I don't see any of the big men scoring more than those two.

Robinson is so exciting. The kid's motor is unreal for a guy his size and he hasn't played in a year and is out of shape. He blocks shots with his left and right hand and has great timing/instincts on D. I like the Capela/Camby comps for him.

This sequence is absurd for an out of shape rookie who didn't play college ball...

Hard hedge on the left wing, dive to help at the rim, and still close out to the opposite corner to block a 3PA. That is special stuff.

Larrier left the Grizzlies a few days ago and joined the Mavericks (they're down 4 starters). Played 9 minutes on Wednesday and went 1-2 (now shooting 3-16 for the summer). He plays his last summer league game today.

Brimah got 23 minutes last night and posted 8 boards, 6 blocks, and only 2 fouls.

Hamilton had 11 boards and 8 assists.

Good numbers for Hamilton. Get him to a good system and coaching & unlock that potential. I don't think OKC is that, but certainly he's turning enough heads to get an invite this fall.

The Brimah - Capella comp is amusing, but I'd rather see Amidah get meaningful burn in Europe where he could play regularly and contribute his enthusiasm to a team. Sure the NBA money is far better, but its not everything.

It's a meaningless summer league game but it still shows the stark difference between the NBA game and the college game. JJJ hits 8 threes last night yet he couldn't score a single FG against Syracuse's zone in the tournament. You'd think he would have been able to kill that zone at 6'11" and just shoot over the top of it. I don't think he even took a three that game.

how about just putting him at the FT line instead of the dude they had there who acted like the ball was on fire.

Brimah started alongside Blossomgame last night and responded. Purvis led the Magic with 20 points in 26 minutes.

Larrier played what was I believe his final game of summer and went 0-1, finishing 3-17 from the field between Utah and Vegas. Hope he finds his feet wherever he lands next.
