So the rant, when did it become "cool" to use stupid numbers in the NBA? Why are there three players on the court with numbers above 55? Am I the only one that finds this utterly asinine? I can see 0-10 being fair game and maybe b/c of historical connotation, 16-18. But any number above 20 ending in 6, 7, 8, 9 should be banned in my opinion. Ok, rant off.

The Celtics are unique because they have so many retired numbers.

00, 1, 2, 3, 6, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 31, 32, 33, and 35 are gone.

And there is nothing wrong with 19. That's just a weird take on your part.

You are right to rant. But what you should be ranting about is that Amir Johnson, Jae Crower, Jerryd Bayless and Johnny O'Bryany are all on the Celtics and on the floor aat the same time.

I don't know of any technology that allows refs to have more than 5 digits per hand. Perhaps 6 if you use Princess Bride characters.

Sometimes the number is significant to the player in some way. Say Kevin Durant and his number 35, here's the story.
