Press conference today...

Going to the NBA - no back up plan, he's signing with an agent.

I'm curious what this season does to SJU's APR. There's been a lot of coming and going, it seems.

....a tough season for SJU. Coach is out all season, and the freshman around which their great recruiting class was built, leaves after one season while a handful of others never qualified.

Don't blame him for going, but it must be frustrating that they are losing him so quickly. Would have loved him on UConn this year.

My guess is that most other schools are better at massaging the system than UConn.

I don't believe you take A hit if the kids transfer in good standing. Not sure though. Moe was an excellent player. Only solace is that SJU got a commit from top 30 Jakarr Sampson last week who will take Moe's place. SJU also returns 4 starters and is expecting to bring in 6 recruits. If the kid is a first rounder, he certainly making a decent move. I think it will help SJU's recruiting down the stretch.

Nah he's too good of a basketball player...make take time to make an impact and who knows how much of one, but he will always have a roster spot. If he gets stronger and works hard he may have a nice impact on a roster someday soon. I see him as a Jeff Brown type player down the road!!

What exactly is "good standing?"

I mean, a kid can leave school short 4 credits with a lot of education and upper level classes in his major under his belt, and he hurts your APR. Yet these one-and-doners who attend 3 intersession classes lasting 1 week each leave in "good standing."

There's a lot that he could still learn at the college level. Maturity being one.

Cook was a head case. I used to go to St. John's games at MSG, and Cook would yap constantly at his teammates and the officials. He had an incredibly inflated opinion of himself and was utterly disdainful of everyone else on the court. I don't think Harkless is like that. I have no idea whether Harkless is making the right choice in entering the draft, but he's a very talented player.
