Ok, so the lesson is never admit wrongdoing is the distinguishing factor. The UNC classes were created and graded by an unqualified office secretary, but the players did the “work”.. in other worlds this is known as a fraud or a sham. In fact, had that same class been given to and paid for by regular paying students, UNC would likely be liable for fraud, and their would accreditation would be at risk. Machinations...
I could be wrong, but I think the reason UNC got off for it was because the class was offered to and taken by regular students.

No the lesson is if you commit academic fraud don’t limit it to athletes.

That’s why the NCAA couldn’t do anything. It wasn’t an athletics issue.

Their accreditation was at risk, they were on probation for a few years.
