(OT) Men's tourney

I think it's impossible to quantify how much one and done effects men's hoops. The most talented players are bailing after a year, 2 tops. You just can't accumulate and consolidate talent in men's hoops the way you can in women's.
No doubt its effect is far reaching, but the men’s tourney has always been much more upset prone than the women’s. Again I think the reservoir of athletes is just so much broader and deeper and that has to do with participation rates and cultural values starting at a very young age.

Welp.... officially done on the men's side of the bracket. Picked Illinois to win the whole thing :(

My Cougs end the game on a 14-2 run to advance.

Sometimes you win pretty and sometimes you win on guts

a couple of observations.... they had the Baylor and the Syracuse men's and women's games on at the same time. Right now its OSU vs OSU.... and both have the orange and black color scheme.

Listened to the final call on westwood... they said something that shocked me. This is only the 4th time that Houston has advanced to the sweet 16 in school history. For a school with such a basketball history... i assumed they had made it more.

Oh, you didn't know this is the Orange bracket. Oregon St. beat Tennessee in the first round. Also Illinois, Syracuse and Clemson in that lower half of that region. Merely a coincidence I'm sure...

Hmm, this is not my understanding at all. Something got lost on the wire.

UH did have a VERY long dry spell after the Phi Slama Jama era. That team reached the Final Four three consecutive years (82-84), then UH made it back to the S16 thirty-five years later (lost a heartbreaker that kept them from the E8), then again this year. That's 5 S16's in my lifetime. Wikipedia is telling me they also made seven S16's from 1956 to 1971.

Oregon St. men in the Sweet 16?! What a ride they've been on.

The double digit seeds are livin' large.

A Pac 12 team (Colorado) finally lost. Meanwhile, unless Maryland turns things around in a hurry against 'Bama, the Big 10 is going to be down to only Michigan after 2 rounds, started w/ 9 (?) teams. Pathetic!

Wow! Oregon St. to the Elite 8, what an run they've been on down the stretch of the season.

The Big 10 is not showing out very well thus far.
I completely disagree. Taking Baylor to OT? Maryland rolling over opponents? They had just as many in the Sweet 16 as the PAC 12. How are they doing poorly? They're doing better than the SEC or the Big 12.

I picked up dinner... and was trying to watch the end of the ORU-Arkansas game on my phone while I was driving... One more game tonight... 8 more tomorrow... then 4 on Monday and 4 on Tuesday.

@Plebe I know your heart was racing a bit tonight :p

Sorry @nwhoopfan Amazing run for the Beavers
Couldn't overcome an awful first half. Sure made a game of it though. Proud of them, been playing about as well as they possibly could for several weeks.

Una noche no apta para cardiacos.

I wish I could say I knew we had 'em all along. I'm man enough to admit that between the UConn and UH games I had a few of these moments:
