OT: local golf...some hotshot kids!

The link is to a nice article in the Courant about the Whaley family....Mom Suzy and her
2 young daughters who are doing mighty well in local golf circles....hope they nab scholarships
when the time comes.

This past week the Ct. Open [women] was held and a 14 year old kid from eastern Mass. won it...
Meghan Khan. Recently Meghan qualified for the U.S. Open in July at Black Wolf Run by shooting 74-67 at Longmeadow CC...a very solid track. I love to see snowbound New Englanders going low.

Blake Longmeadow CC is a beautitful track and a good test of golf. I love that course.

Longmeadow has hosted both the USGA Jr. Championships for girls and boys....1995 for girls....maybe 3 years ago for boys. While a very private course they seem generous in allowing a variety of organizations to host state and national
qualifying rounds on the course.

Not long....not fancy...just a real good Donald Ross course.
