I noticed that the Summit League quarterfinal was tied at 82 with 30 seconds left, so I figured that ESPN would have the game on one of its 37 channels.
No dice. I found Hoop Dreams on one, bass fishing on another and lacrosse on yet another.
Just as I tuned in, Johns Hopkins and Princeton were 'fighting'.
I swear that it looked like a scene out of "The Outsiders" except instead of Soc's vs greasers, it was two sets of Soc's. And instead of fighting, they were pretending to fight. And by pretending to fight, I mean sorta dancing in place and yelling "Wooo!" at the top of their lungs while waiting anxiously for the refs to arrive to prevent further dancing and woo-yelling.
The announcers were hollering that the refs had to get there to break it up before it got ugly, but in reality, I've seen more ill-intent in the line at Starbucks. It was perhaps the funniest and least violent thing I've seen since I saw some "foxy boxing" at a bachelor party about ten years ago.
