this Trumps the "blue dress"

Tyler Summitt coming into his own as a head coach

"Into his own" and probably a couple others LOL

This is an older article - if it's Pumroy this is a creepy article now isn't it? I guess he certainly did have an "open door" policy

Quote from the article. They joys of being in love during the beginning of a relationship.

“I think, so far, things are going well,” he said. “We’re a long ways from where we want to be but excited about the future.”

Good Gawd, the jokes are writing themselves.

Ms. Pumroy's quotes from the article.

“He has an open door policy,” said Louisiana Tech guard Brooklyn Pumroy. “Even though he is 24 or 25, I don’t even know. To me he’s 46. After you’re with him on the court so many times, the maturity level he has on the court transfers off the court so it’s just as easy to get advice on anything.”

“It’s not about wins and championships,” said Summitt. “Those things are great but it’s about relationships. Helping these young ladies improve at life and not just basketball and that’s why I think the women’s game is so special.”

I don't see why everyone is so quick to want to protect this woman. She's an adult who committed adultery with a public figure. If she was an actress of the same age, no one would have a problem with her name being plastered all over the place.

Maybe, but she isn't. She's a college student whose coach took advantage of an implicit power dynamic. Why is it so important to you that she suffer further?

:D

Why recruit temptation when you are already married?

I saw it was Santos - either way the story is incredible.

They also said they believe now he had done the same as an assistant at Marquette so that makes sense since she's a transfer from Marquette?

This was a coach and a player, it's not ethical for the authority figure to pursue anything because of the inherent power dynamic. Dunno why people would want to attack her, but it's not just two random adults in a vacuum.

If that makes you uncomfortable, maybe a joke about him trailing mom when it comes to bagging players would be more comfortable for you?

If it's not offending somebody, it's probably not funny.

She followed him to La Tech. She's hardly an innocent in this manner. She's 22, are we giving Summitt a pass for being 25? She's going to have to come out in order to stop the other girl from having her name dragged through the mud.

I didn't say she was "innocent," but you seem to be ignoring that it's an authority figure situation. For some reason.

Wow, how dumb can you be you got to be a HC at age 25 because lets be honest his last name is Summitt. At his age he made a base salary of 125,000 coaching at a program with low expectations (good job security). In the real world sadly people do cheat on their wives and a 25 year old and a 20 year old hooking up isn't uncommon, its not a crime what he did just stupidity.

What does innocence have to do with this?

This has two factors to it, both of which are career killers. One, does the school want to continue employing someone who plays favorites with his authority, thereby leaving his school liable to any potential lawsuits? Two, does the school want to employ a coach who needs to recruit players by occasionally speaking to their parents?
