I assume he was forced out. Anyone know?

I was surprised when he didn't leave earlier.

Had they parted ways in the offseason, maybe they would have been more compelled to fight the postseason ban.

I'm sure a lot of it is of their own doing, but damn that program is snake-bitten.

Larry Brown doesn't have the UNC apparatus in place there.

Frazier is the only player involved in the scandal that got them banned in the first place. Now he's not tough enough to finish out two more months? I'd say good riddance if I were (and I thank God I'm not) an SMU fan.

Or when you're a top recruit and back out of your commitment to Pitt and end up at Auburn. Yes, Mustapha Heron, I mean you.

That's the first thing I thought of but really don't know enough about he kid. I mean he just seems to be too good to have ended with the list he had too.

They're not snake-bitten.

They recruit horrific academic risks and then suffer the consequences when those risks become grenades.

Just because they're tempting the snake doesn't mean they aren't getting bitten.

Someone snapped this photo of Larry Brown this afternoon.

It might also help to know the kinds of venom that are out there_.jpg

Is the UNC scandal worse than the SMU scandal on the scandal scale?

Depends on whose scale. On the NCAA's? Not at all. On regular people's? Absolutely.

UNC's is the single worst collegiate academic (heck, maybe any type) scandal of all time. Which is why I don't get that there isn't the uproar out there.

UNC basically created an entire major for jocks and did it for years. SMU was just getting started.

Not just for jocks. They allowed regular students to take those classes. The school was effectively a fraud degree factory.

The only reason regular students got in the classes was the frats found out about it. Which ended up getting UNC off the hook initially.

Yup. More like gave the NCAA a convenient excuse to let them off the hook. They would have found something else.
