The local news had a breaking news story that Jim Calhoun fell of his bike at his vacation home and broke his hip. His charity basketball game is tonight, he won't be there.

The tough breaks (no pun intended) just keep coming for the UConn men's program...a broken hip at his age will be a tough road to recovery.

Geez, didn't JC get hurt at a charity bike rally a few years ago? The man should stay off bicycles!

Hasn't his boss told him how dangerous biking can be? Sheesh. It should be in his contract or something....

It is time for JC to retire. Hip injuries at his age are difficult to recover from.

Rubbish. My mom broke her hip a few months ago and is nearly fully recovered.. And at 93, she has a few years on Jim.

It probably depends on the injury and the individual but a friend of mine had both hips replaced at age 68. He's still skiing at 72 and bragging that he gets in more runs now than he ever did before the surgery. .

True- he definitely won't be able to sky for rebounds anymore.

This means that Jimmy will postpone his decision as to whether he'll coach this year's team from December to March.

Calhoun is too tough to let something like this end his career.

Calhoun is tough and stubborn. He'll keep coaching.

Get well, Coach.
