Looking at recommendation for a good italian nice restaurants. Max more in avon has been my go to with my wife. Looking to branch out.

How is Carbone's ? Are all the locations the same? We are good for a drive if worth it
Thanks

Treva in West Hartford

Grano Arso in Chester

Salute in Rocky Hill/Hartford

Grano seems to have taken a step back in the last couple years. Or maybe I just went on a bad day?

The first two times I went it was the best in the state. Last time, very good but not great

Gepettos in Torrington has a great cozy atmosphere and terrific food. The owners are from the Italian island of Sardinia ( my parents are from there). Try the Sardinian wine Cannonau, and Sardinian after dinner drink of Mirto. You will not be disappointed

Venetian in Torrington too if you’re in that neck of the woods.

Sardinia known as a Blue Zone area and Cannonau is specifically mentioned as having higher level resveratrol than most reds. Will def. check out Gepettos.Thx

Short road trip to Cheshire from FV.. Quick on/off from 84. Viron Rondo Osteria. Have met our Italian friends from So Ct there and they like it better than their Fairfield Cty choices. Recommend a reservation if interested.
Great patio setup outside and great food…just remember to bring your hearing aids if you dine inside because it is loud.

I think Viron Rondo seats around 1,000 people now or it will when their next expansion is completed.

Holy crap. Hopefully that doesn't effect their quality. Went maybe 2 years ago and loved the place

The expansion plans for 2025 will provide seating capacity-indoor-outdoor-rooftop- to around your estimates. Will elevate their status as destination dining.

As Yogi used to say- "No one goes there anymore because it's always too crowded."

A little hidden gem in Canton is Buon Appetito.

No website. Only open 5:00-8:30. BYOB. Small spot. Every dish is made from scratch and made to order. Not a spot to rush in and out of since it's made to order but everything I've ever had there is a knockout.
I haven't lived in CT for over three decades, so I'm not up on the latest restaurants. But it seems every visit back there, we end up at this place and always have a great meal!
