It's 43 here in DC.

Honestly not sure how the people of this city will survive the article blast.

Also, it is flu season.

Try to avoid shaking hands - I recommend nodding, waving and pretending not to recognize people as a substitute.

If someone seems intent on shaking hands or, God-forbid, the dreaded hug and peck on the cheek, liberally rub your attacker with anti-bacterial hand sanitizer.

I prefer to greet people with a throat punch this time of year. It's festive and doesn't pass germs.

My furnace died in the middle of the night yesterday.

Had to take day off work and furnace guy said he would be there between 10-2 .

he showed at 430. By the time he showed the thermostat was reading 42 degrees in the house. Good times.

That's warm over here in Buffalo.

Every time I walk outside it takes 15 minutes to de-thaw.

As stated, "good times." Why do I live here again?

We had almost 2 inches of snow last night! To the mice that keep trying to set up a homestead in my boat, that's a death storm!

I lived in DC when it was single digits, with wind. 43 is a blessing in December or January! In, 2013 I think it was, there was a nasty cold front, tons of snow. Ugh, do not miss it.

Here in Guatemala City the other day it was 42 with a windchill of 35, at least where I live on the outskirts, higher up than the rest of the city. Now that I did not expect!

Shhhh I'm just trying to make fun of the softness of the locals when it comes to winter weather.
