86 plus inside. The air conditioning has been an issue for about a week, and crapped out totally yesterday. The first problem - which at least was keeping the house in the 70's, caused the 2nd problem, which blew out the compressors. Final repairs being made at this moment.

Just not a good thing in Arizona.

Geez Nan. Looks like a bad case of distracted driving to me. Setting a bad example for the boys. ;)

Going into the Verizon Center at 6:30, it was 104. Coming out at 9:00, it was only 99, but really did feel like a sauna.

It's 65 in SF and 74 in Oakland, but I've been on the east coast for business and pleasure for a week. Endured 95 plus degrees in NYC today.

Milford: Batten down the hatches! The storm's coming for YOU next! (It just kicked my @*&! pretty good over here in Tysons)

Thanks. I think it started here before 11 PM. The lights flickered for at least 10 minutes and then went out. Power came back in about 5 minutes fortunately. It's sunny and hot again.

At 10 am, it's 81 degrees and humid. Make sure your elderly friends are safe.

Here in the NE the humidity is actualy down a bit today. Dewpoints only about 57F right now. Not too bad. It was around 71F last heat wave.

Kinda nice out right now. :)

So whats the average summer like up in CT ? Judging by this thread... the mid 90's and above arent the normal summer time highs up there. You are lucky to have such a low dewpoint. Thursday the temperature was 93..... but the dewpoint was only like 51F. Today.. the high is supposed to get to 104F... with a dewpoint of 75F :(

October cant get here fast enough

variable. We will have stretches in the 90s, but it's never sustained for too long.

The average temperature for June 30th in Connecticut is 83. The state's average temps are pretty moderate, due to its being on a shoreline. I think we average something like 20 days a year with temps in the 90's. If you look at the table I linked, you'll see we do get some real extremes but a lot of records have stood for a long time.

The major thing is that when it does get hot up here, a) people aren't used to it, b) New England has an older population, and c) not everyone has central air. A day like today would be welcome in Texas, but everyone is used to hot summers down there. Conversely, the littlest bit of snow will cause anywhere in Texas to come to a screening halt.
