Really almost lateral. Needs to get to a bigger place. That would be a nice move for her.

Hartford's middling results of late
And likely to remain in the 8th or 9th position, behind the Power 5, BE and American. Also gets respect from the committee come March - mostly because they are schools that play many of the eastern P5 and other better schools OOC, I think. Not one team playing a lot of them, of course, but across the board - something that most conferences can't claim.Following up on the above, Sagarin ranks the A10 as the 9th best conference, based on this year's results, while AE ranks 22nd.
I think the reason people were so quick to jump on your comment is that for many years, people assumed that Jen was the heir apparent to Geno given her experience, early success at Hartford, and her USA basketball experience.Really almost lateral. Needs to get to a bigger place.
I think the reason people were so quick to jump on your comment is that ....
Well - Jen's record at Hartford is 289-179 overall and 168-80 in conference. Prior to her arrival their record was 198-353, and 70-134 in the America East. Her immediate predecessor had compile a record of 76-114 and 47-69 over 7 seasons and the team had never finished higher than 4th in conference. That Jen was able to get a very weak team into post season play in 8 of 15 seasons with 6 NCAA bids and three NCAA wins is pretty impressive. This last year was her first really weak year, the previous two years were more a reflection of the rise of Albany than Hartford collapsing.I think the reason people were so quick to jump on your comment is that for many years, people assumed that Jen was the heir apparent to Geno given her experience, early success at Hartford, and her USA basketball experience.
However, the past 5+ years have seen an abrupt turn around for the program and they have gone from a NCAA team who usually won or challenged at the top of their league to a horrible team with a losing record. She won the America East regular season 4 times, the last coming in 2010, and the tourney 5 times, the last coming in 2011.
Since then she's gone 17-15 (2011), 19-13, 21-12, 13-18, 16-17, 11-19. You could almost say she's driven the program into the ground in the past 3 years and I'm not sure there's any improvement on the horizon. I'm not sure what happened to her teams, but they have been just terrible lately. Maybe GW will allow for a fresh start.
I am of the opinion that Jen would be at the lower end of choices to replace Geno were he to retire right now. There are at least 6-7 people I'd rather see ahead of her, not including a whole host of coaches currently at mid major type programs.
I don't know but have you checked the Sagarin conference ratings? On no planet is UHart remotely comparable to GW.
I totally hear you but I fail to see how records of 13-18 and 16-17 in 13/14 and 14/15 has anything to do with the rise of Albany. Did UHart play Albany 10 times each season?Well - Jen's record at Hartford is 289-179 overall and 168-80 in conference. Prior to her arrival their record was 198-353, and 70-134 in the America East.
