Imagine owing someone (or claiming you owe) $1000, and multiply that by 100. I've seen stupid shiot happen over just $50.

She will have no peace for a decade or two, perhaps even the rest of her life.

Neither of them will be sleeping well for a while. I also think anyone (even reasonable folks) would be weighing all options taking nothing off the table. And I'm not talking legal stuff.

$100k ain't chicken scratch, especially when someone feels like they got ripped off.
