These are 2 young women in the public's eye. I think they need to be cut a little slack. What they really need is an older mentor, like all of us did at some point in our lives. The difference is that most of us didn't live our lives under a microscope.

I think its hard to choose to live in the public's eye with public relations professionals, seeking interviews and then retreat into privacy when you wish to. To quote Hyman Roth, "This is the business we've chosen."

I feel sympathy for them, but that is the business they have chosen.

Sadly, there is a baby on the way who in no way asked to be part of the drama. While I sincerely hope that BG and GJ reach a level of peace with this situation, it is sad that there will be an innocent baby with perhaps a one parent household, instead of a complete family.

Agreed!

I have not met Britney, though I chatted with Glory and some friends in Istanbul last year. Everyone seemed so pleasant.

Being female and 6'3" to 6'8" cannot be easy. Being a Lesbian and coming out cannot be easy either. Having a high profile marriage adds pressure.

In a short period, we have learned that they were engaged; had a public fight, which led to suspensions; got married; announced that Glory was pregnant; and were getting an annulment. Brit says she tried to delay the wedding as she was going through therapy. Glory says she was unaware of Brit's feelings and blindsided by the annulment that Brit says they agreed to.

I think they clearly need a cooling off period and some professional help. Best wishes to both of them, whether they are apart or together.

In terms of the WNBA, let's return the focus to basketball.

This is beyond stupid, ugly and pathetic and both have to be prepared for a firestorm of criticism, bad jokes and ridicule. It is, of course, beyond time for them both to shut up.

Not a fan of either I take it. :p

I have never followed Glory. I have been a big fan of BG's. I wish them both well, but find the goings on of the last two months so bizzare and so destructive of WNBA imaging efforts, so playing into the hands of the misogynists out there - the haters - that it frankly makes me sick.:eek:

this is bigger than the WNBA... the W may be keeping them civilized

Wonder why WNBA has not said anything about those two clowns...

Oh, I agree and don't mean to suggest that the biggest concern here is the step backward on the WNBA's efforts, but I am sure the "they" of the WNBA are wringing their hands over this.

cause what they are doing is NONE of the W's business...

do your job tell you what to do in your private life... or are you old enough to work?

man if you don't unquote me in your childish nonsense...

Most pro athletes have clauses in their contracts that specify certain codes of conduct outside of their job. The NFL (LOL) had a player conduct policy and I'm sure the WNBA does as well. When the athlete signs his or her contract with a pro team, he or she agrees to abide by a certain code of conduct. We could argue about whether this is reasonable or not, but that's how it is.

If I am representing the company's image, yes, my company will tell me what to do and what not to do....

Yes, my company definitely will ask if I am old enough to work (if they suspect), although they may not ask my age.

Glad I scrolled.. saved me the morals clause, brings disrepute to team/league thing for the Daddy...who is off his usually superb game on this one.

ok... so why haven't they said anything as the original question asked.

having a baby, not having a baby... marriage no marriage is in their clause? I understand the fighting/arrest, code of conduct etc.

can they tell you to marry or not marry... baby or no baby (if course it depends on the occupation)?

you guys are talking about crimes (that punishment has been handed out) ... Im talking about having a baby, getting married, asking for an annulment of the marriage etc. didnt see that in the NFL Policy, just a bunch of arrest

This article implies that Glory and Brit agreed to start a family, so they would have needed a donor. I just have a hard time believing that BG would agree to a planned pregnancy and then walk away so quickly. I have to wonder if the pregnancy wasn't a surprise, thus prompting BG to file for an annulment.
did u see the pic of BG cuddling her belly... seems happy and aware to me?

Pro athletes' private lives aren't exempt from scrutiny from their employers, that was the point.

but to be so public and to be ridiculed and the butt of everyone's jokes.....
Yea, well they brought a lot of that on themselves.

Probably best they shut up, quit doing interviews, quit tweeting, quit instagramming and just get their lives figured out. Not sure who their agent/publicist is but they need to be fired (or quit if they are actually not being listened to).
