While I started with metal, nobody, NOBODY, picks any faster than bluegrass musicians. I can't even think where to start with guitar solos from that genre. So while this isn't bluegrass, it's definitely old timey in feel. David Rawlings is a wild man on his guitar.

Absolutely! David's solo from the Pulse concert is otherworldly - something the gods would listen to at the beginning (or end) of time! (In the interests of transparency, i need to admit i'm a big PF fan). Here is the track from the Pulse concert:

Aside from some of the obvious favorites that appear on threads like this I’ll go less obvious and less popular and dig a little bit into the underbelly of rock and roll. This is some high energy, killer stoner rock with an extended guitar solo and oh the bass player is basically soloing away with his own sick sounds. Don’t let the song title or genre scare you away. The face melt starts around 3:05. Hope you give it a try.
