Maybe a tad toooo brash ...

But, now with Twitter, we can see the cold hard facts of the backgrounds of Connecticut journalists. Like how they cheer when UConn dives to a hard fought defeat ... or how they have deep angst when we have this "fluke" championship run.

Yes, you know about the BC insider down at the New London Day - Mike DiMauro. Through and through, he rises to his bias with ... occasional ... insight into a perspective that most of us "fan"atics can't muster. In general, he is a slug.

Others? Well, Sean Patrick Bowley of the Post is an "ardent" Orange fan working the backroads - mostly HS football & basketball in deep hard conference games with slight anti-UConn bent. But ... not all that reason. Unless, you follow him on Twitter and the Syracuse collapse hit him hard. Brian Koontz? ahhh ... one of my favorites - who hasn't been nearly evident for quite some time. Turns out he decks himself in Orange & is unabashed in his family rooting. You might also recall ... that he followed Jake Voskuhl out to the parking lot to see the $30,000 SUV he was driving (searching for things to make UConn athletes in trouble/ineligibly) - which turned out to be ... from his Uncle. And of course, Desmond Conner, leans Orange.

ALL in the open now. It isn't hard to see the rooting when we get a hit (mostly Conference realignment) ... and the silence at the end of another NC run.

I had to google Sean Patrick Bowley and had forgotten that Brian Koontz ever existed.

I believe UConn will survive their subversive efforts.

As for DiMauro, he is a Boston College fan. No further punishment is required.

Bowley has never covered UConn or college sports. Brian Koonz has been off the UConn beat for eons. He saw El-Amin driving a Land Rover owned by someone who was no relation. It looked like it could be really ugly for a while.

I believe that UConn fans are sometimes too paranoid about the background and slant of writers. These are local writers with no national significance. If you don't like what they write, ignore them like the rest of the country.

Seriously, if this guy ever smoked dope I think his head would explode from paranoia.

Unfortunately, until the Zac Boyer School of Journalism is firmly established in Storrs thirty years from now, the Horde will most likely be hamstrung with grads of other colleges - some of which, heaven forbid, might be rivals of UConn.

Whatevs.

They can be cute with their stories and their Tweets all they want, but they cannot ignore what the record books say about us. Scoreboard, you media devils - SCOREBOARD.

Sometimes some of us take this "disrespect" or "stepchild" act a bit too far. It's as if you want to be mad. Stop looking for reasons to be mad when we have every reason not to be.

It's way past time UConn pumped up it's sports journalism dept.
This. Especially with two major sports tv networks in state.

(...and by two major networks I mean one and a wanna be.)
