Funny you say that. Friends of ours both went to the University of Alabama (she's from there but he's not) and moved up here shortly after graduation. She's very thin and he jokes that he got her out of Alabama because if they had stayed she would have gotten fat like everyone else down there. He jokes the women down there are good looking and thin until about their early 20's then most get fat.Depends on University. UTexas and Vandy grads do alright (and are smoking). Ole Miss, Alabama, et al....not so much. Fat city.

I dated a girl from Vanderbilt for several years when I lived in DC. Her social circle consisted of girls from Vandy and other SEC schools. I don't think I saw a single one of them eat a chicken fried steak or chitlins in the 4 years we were together. I don't think your
typical southern debutante indulges in a lot of soul food.
