Any rumors on who might be the next coach? BC has lost almost all of the momentum of the MAtt Ryan year, but it is still in a major conference.

Chill big boy... let's figure out our future first so we know where we need to be looking for impact (and how much we have to spend).

A good friend (and BC alumnus) of mine often says. BC has a good football team every 12 years wether they need to or not. If you look at the record over the years he is pretty much right.

Look to the guys in the MAC that are having good years (Kent State, N. Ill) in addition to Diaco. MAC is a a natural as new AD came from a MAC school. Also the league that gave the world Tressell, Dantonio, Kelly...

Tressell I thing was FCS at Youngstown State , but Urban Meyer was a flying falcon at Bowling Green.

That leaves Randy and Charlie Weiss opening the season at 1 and 2 at Coaches Hot Seat. Skip Holtz and Colorado's Jon Embree should join them in the Top 5. The last seat in the top 5 is up for grabs: rumor has Southern Miss is buying out 0-12 Ellis Johnson after one year courtesy of the alumni.

Aother win and HCPP will have to earn his way back onto the list next year.

I see Mike Sherman on that list. I hate to imagine that possibility because I believe he can really help develop Tannehill for the Dolphins.

Skip Holtz won't start the year on that list. He will be canned after this season, unless I missed it and USF confirmed he's returning?

I read somewhere that Don Brown would be on the short list

Mike Sherman? You mean the guy that couldn't win at aTm? That would be a horrible hire.

MacIntyre, Dykes, Diaco, Roman, and the Kent State and NIU coaches would all be really good hires for them. Let's see how they this up.

Colorado's Embree is gone. That leaves Randy, Charlie Weiss, Skip Holtz, and Southern Miss's 0-12.first year wonder Ellis Johnson as the top 4 competitors to lead the lsit next year.

Southern Miss completed a reversal of fortune, going from 12-2 in 2011 to 0-for-12 in 2012

Here's Johmson explaining why he shoild be fired:

“I have no idea,” Johnson said after the game when asked if thought he would be retained following a season unlike any other in the USM annals. “I’m more concerned with the overall improvement of the team, and we never got better and better and better.”

Just in time to bring Tom O'brien back

To be honest I think it would be a good move. It's a win-win. He dumped BC to date the pretty girl, but now that that's blown up in his face he's probably ready to settle down and they can get the BC lifer they want. With him they know they'll be getting 8 win seasons and a bowl victory in Idaho every year, which probably looks like Shangri-La after the last few seasons.

I wouldn't freak out if BC hires a good coach, there will be good candidates for UConn in the future if P lasts only 3 years. Think more along the lines of a younger OC ready to step up.

I will freak out if anybody hires Don Brown away though.

Really too bad that GDL and Spaz are now gone. They were a powerful duo for UCONN. Of course, given yesterday's loss to basketball powerhouse Bryant, Donahue doesn't appear to be any slouch either. :)

Yup..timing and decisive action is everything. Usually wait and see means the meek and timid get the scraps. I'd hate to think PP is our spazatross around our necks.

If GDL was still there I'd be more concerned about them hiring away Brown. I'd think the new AD would try to make a sexier hire.

People better not sleep on Don Brown landing one of these HC jobs. The guy can flat out coach, players love playing for him & he has a proven track record as a HC (95-45). While HC at UMass he was 4-2 against UNH when Sean McDonnell was their HC & 3-1 against them when Chip Kelly was their OC. Hope he is here for the long haul but with all these vacancies i am fearful. Whoever gives him a 1A program to take over will not be disappointed. As Smallwood stated in the Jeff Jacobs article "we were just out there trying to make plays for each other. Coach Brown is the best DC in the country & guys just feed off of him"
