Yesterday afternoon I found out I could attend today's game. I looked around at ticket options for a good single and determined that the best deal was a $27 Ticketmaster Fan Resale ticket in the second row in the 200s, so I bought and paid for it. It said it would be an instant download, but after I paid all I got was a confirmation number and e-mail saying they were working on my ticket and that I would receive it before the event. Thought that was strange but figured I would give it a few hours. Woke up this morning and still no ticket. Just had the following "live chat" with TM and still do not have a ticket:

OUCH. That blows 8893. May need a beer after all of that!

I am hoping for a street bargain with my buddies today, cold one but will find something.

I was going to do that, too, but when I saw this deal I figured I was unlikely to do better, given what the 100s are going for.

Now they are cutting into my O'Rourke's time. I am going to kill them if I have to miss that.

Do you have to possess a printed ticket? If it is an electronic ticket won’t you have a barcode on your phone?

I have nothing. No barcode, no eticket. Just a confirmation number for my order.

Right, but when the ticket arrives in your email, do you have to print it or is it scannable at XL.

My point is, head to the bar and wait for the email.

I believe it is a printable ticket, not a mobile one. At least that’s what it said. I am not leaving that to chance because I am sure I will get hung up at the XL and want to make sure I get a Big Red T-shirt.

O’Rourke’s is a breakfast joint en route, not a bar.

Still no contact...

Almost an hour and still no contact when it was promised in 45 minutes or less. Unbelievable. Complete fraud.

Couldn't help noticing that Jolynn kept writing "tickets may be available" and not "tickets shall be available." Yikes.

File a credit card chargeback. You'll win no questions asked due to the "instant download" language. The credit card company is always on your side.

In the meantime buy other tickets to the game and enjoy.

Update: No phone call more than hour after live chat and no ticket. I called Ticketmaster customer service and got recording that they are not open until 9:00. I called back at 9:00 and worked my way through the maze of auto-prompts and it showed no orders matching my phone number or order number. Finally got a live person and he looked into it and confirmed that everything I said was true and put me on hold to check and then came back a few minutes later and simply said "the order was not completed for some reason and you will be getting a full refund." In other words, they sold me a ticket they didn't have, i.e., fraud. Brutal.

I'm taking this as a sign and staying home. I just noticed that the thermostat in our addition is not working and the room is frigid and my wife is at work for the day, so I need to solve this anyway so the pipes don't freeze while I am out.

This after learning yesterday that our septic system is failing and will need to be entirely replaced.

2017 can't end fast enough. Sorry to miss the game but I hope this isn't an omen of what's in store for us.

Oh, and Ticketbastard sucks.

I've always used Stub Hub for secondary markets.

Last week for the Auburn game the AU athletics site links you to Stub Hub since Stub Hub is their official third party broker.

Ticketbastard, eh? I alternate between Ticketmonster & Ticketmobster. All adds up to the same.

UConn has assigned a contact person to me because I'm a season ticket holder for football. I looked up the Wichita State game prices a week ago and saw only $50+ tickets left on sale. I contacted "my guy" and he was able to get me two tickets a couple rows up in the 200's for $13 each.

While I feel pretty good that I got a good price, I've been pretty vocal about the fact that UConn has to get the pricing right in order to maximize attendance at all athletic events. I catch a lot of crap on the football board for even suggesting it, though...

That's complete BS. I'll not be using ticketmaster in the future now myself. One of my major pet peeves is when I'm trying to give my money to a person/event/item and they make it so damn difficult that I just say it and move on.

I hate Ticketmaster with a passion. Worst organization ever. Even when things go right the fees they charge are absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately they seem to have a monopoly on many big events so it's almost impossible to escape their grasp.
