MUST.........NOT........POST........PORNOGRAPHIC..........ANSWER.........
Silly me, trying to be objective and treat a racer like a racer. OTOH, rubbin' is racin'.

Thank God this happened down south where the hayseeds actually have an idea of what to do if a jet engine explodes on their driveway. They're just handy that way.
If that happened in the northeast, the race would be postponed for 27 months while we commissioned a new track to be built right next to the one that caught fire.
And on the broadcast team, I agree. As I have often thought to myself when I watch Hubert Davis, if Fox isn't getting about eight tax breaks for employing the Waltrips, someone has some explaining to do.
Actually, it appeared that they didnt know what they were doing. Appeared to be applying dry chemical extinguishers to the fluid which did suppress the flames. I then took extreme pleasure of them applying water to the fire, hence spreading it. A nice foam application would have been nice there, cant believe they didnt do it.
Kind of surprised nobody threw a hog on it

I thought I saw them applying foam at one point. One would think they would have every kind of fire suppressant available at a racetrack. Anyway I fell asleep shortly afterward. when I realized they weren't going to have a restart any time soon.
Probably something that folks other than us should have discussed perhaps before it happened...Just an idea.In the 5 minute clip I saw there was no foam being applied. That's not to say that afterwards there wasn't. But that would have been my first option, not last.
