A lot of their fans are jagbags and they took great pleasure in kicking us when we were down but I don't particularly like that Syracuse is sucking. I wish they were still in the conference with us, I wish we still played them all the time and I want them to be good. I always want Syracuse, Georgetown, and St. John's to be good.
I'd like to keep playing them, but as a doormat in our conference, I can't root for them to be good after what you mentioned at the beginning.

If you just rearranged the order we beat the teams to:

First round: 10 St. Joe's
Second Round: 8 Kentucky
S16: 4 Michigan State
Elite 8: 3 Iowa State
Final Four: 2 Villanova
Finals: 1 Florida

You'd have what would look like an all-time gauntlet, almost a 1-seed toughest path except replacing the 16 with a 10.

There was a lot of luck (injuries, location) but they beat the overall 1 seed in the semifinals and a Michigan State team everyone figured would win the title if not Florida. They earned that title.
I always thought the 2011 team had an easier draw, but still not easy at all. A 6 seed that was in our conference, road games in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8, a young but good Kentucky team in the Final 4, and a Butler team in the final who played in the title game the year before.

Same here, I always want northeast college basketball to be good. Sure, its completely normal to hate our rivals. But I want all of them to be decent/fairly good so that we don't have to travel cross country just to play a top 25 match-up. It also generates excitement for the sport in the region. This is a business after all.

I think they have a decent incoming class next year including Carmelo’s kid. Think he’s a 4 star. Autry will need to win next year.

Cuse is the perfect storm of letting an old antiquated coach running a ridiculously out of date system stick around 5 years too long to the point of losing momentum on brand, and then idiotically hiring one of his alumni assistants with no HC experience. When does this ever work?

No power conference school should hire a coach without successful years of HC experience at the collegiate level elsewhere. Why even take the risk when every year there are options out there? You deserve what you get when you do it.

Rutgers is 8-7 this season with two Top 5 draft picks on the roster. I'll say it again, loved him as a Husky player, but Pikiell's highly overrated as a coach. He's in his ninth season at Rutgers, has one 20 win season there and is 1-3 in his career in the NCAA Tournament. Bailey and Harper wasted their one year of college ball. Great he was a Husky, but some honesty on his coaching ability.
Watched a bit of the Rutgers game against wisc
It’s hard to be a good coach when your lottery pick three for 20

I enjoy northeast basketball and their games used to have a lot of juice.

College basketball is better with a good Syracuse and a good Georgetown.
When do you plan to confess your sins?

30 million Hail Marys.

Ace reminds me a lot of Donyell. I'm ready surprised that they are 8-7. I hate to agree with you, because I like Pikell and even wanted UConn to go after him before Hurley was hired.

There's enough talent on that team for to have a much better record and their fan base is not happy.

Happy we ended up with Hurley and I hope Pikell turns things around. How they landed two top guys is beyond me. It's cruel thing to happen to a fan base, but they, like the Cuse guys love trashing Uconn

I chose my handle to clown on Syracuse. I revel in their misery but I also look forward to seeing them turn it around and at least be respectable again.

I'd rather see old Big East teams in the top 25 than all these SEC schools.

You mean you just opened this thread and saw it in the OP here? Or you just saw it somewhere else? I'm confused.
I have very bad phone service where I work so the OP's image didn't show up, so I only saw it on Instagram. My bad.

A selection of many teams' fans are "jagbags" (wha...?). Including us sometimes. Three things about Syracuse.

1. That 6 OT game in the BET was the most gripping and intense basketball game I have attended. I only wish the outcome had been different. But it was mesmerizing.
2. The BE games with Syracuse were always "must watch" and intense. Back in the day every BE game, even those not involving UConn but with 'Nova, SU, St. Johns and Georgetown were appointment TV. Games between Butler and Depaul, or Xavier and St. Johns just don't compare.
3. My brother attended Syracuse.

So I can't jump on the bash SU bandwagon. BC, on the other hand ... ;)

The Onion must have a new writer that is a college basketball fan because they also had one about Cooper Flagg the other day too.

I think they're just seeking out low hanging fruit (pun intended as it relates to Syracuse).
