Interesting, Davis is in the starting line-up over Bedoya. Not sure why. What’s the bet that Green subs for him at some point? Cameroon being benched is no surprise, though I though Brooks deserved the starting nod over Gonzalez.

On the other pitch, Ghana looks to be burning itself down. Boateng and Muntari (who was already suspended for the Portugal game for Yellow cards) are both off the team after fighting with management. Plus, they seem to have money issue. While this does help the US, I actually feel bad as I like Ghana and would have rooted for them if they were not in the same Group as the US plus they got screwed by Uruguay in the 2010 cup after screwing the US in the 2006 Cup.

For some reason I thought we would see Mix today.

If it's a joint US/Canada bid, I think Canada will get one of the semis, and a pretty good share of the other matches.

Off-hand, I would agree; but Canada lacks the stadiums. The Rogers Centre in Toronto is turf, which would have to be addressed, and only holds 47K for soccer and the BC Place in Vancouver only holds 54K for soccer. Only two other Canadian stadium hold more than 40K FIFA minimum for a cup: Olympic in Montreal (66K), which is also a dome and uses turf, and Commonwealth in Edmonton (60K). Montreal is a possibility; but, I am not sure what would need to be upgraded for the Cup as no pro team currently uses the field. Edmonton maybe too remote.

Uh this is going to be a long 90 minutes...

Can we bring back the space program and launch Omar a few light years away?

Is this a strategy? Or are the Germans that much better? WHen the US touches the ball they kick it down the other end....when the Germans get the ball they methodically move it up the field time after time.

Brutal officiating so far in the US game. Port and Ghana just traded ridiculous saves.

That is just the talent differential. Almost complete control from GER this far.

Wheels coming off for Ghana. Need to get to half 1-0.

Excellent defense. And Bradley cannot pass... He just passed the ball to a German player.

How long can JK go with Omar after taking a yellow. Playing with fire.

Well based on the play these are the best case halftime scores you could ask for.

The BBC feed is quite entertaining. For those who say soccer has no future here, commentators have said the US and Germany brought the most fans from overseas.

At the same time, expect basketball, etc, to grow. FIBA is placing it's World Cup a year after the soccer World Cup now, starting in 2019.

I thought Bradley was having an average half until that lousy touch from the Jones pass. If he settles that down, he has a tremendous scoring opportunity.

Heard on the radio last night that there were close to 100,000 Americans in Brazil.

Bradley is a tire fire at this point. Killing them.

Ian Darke saying Ghana scoring is good for the US might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life

A bit late on Davis JK. Good thing with 30 min left in the group stage you don't have Donovan to call on.

Was there ever any doubt.
