OT: Blake Griffin Dunk On Kendrick Perkins

Holy , Blake's already the best dunker ever in my opinion so nothing surprises me but that was freaking filthy. Looks like he was shot out of a cannon.

Watched it live and jaw fell to the floor. Alas, it will now take some of the storyline away from Caron lighting up Durant so far for 22 points!

(that and Durant having 32 so far - but Caron has looked great tonight, some great explosive moves to the hoop in addition to some great 3-point shooting)).

Blake is so athletic and that looked absurd upon first take. Looking closer, he doesn't touch the rim and basically throws the ball in, kinda like his dunk over Mosgov. Doesn't make it any less impressive though.

I like this Blake vid more.

Did he make the free throw? Doesn't count unless he makes the free throw!

Who am I kidding? That was nasty.

Just watched it again for the 10,000th time. The OKC announcers were trying to pretend that it was the most awesome dunk they've ever seen.

Jeez, did he even touch the rim on that one? Honestly, I don't get as excited about dunks as a lot of people, but that was just nuts. That's the kind of stuff you see when high school kids lower the rim.

.-.
His fingers actually did hit the rim - and he made the foul shot.

Here's one where the commentators are much more excited:

I love how his voice rises as he says "game" when he realizes Blake is going to take off.

The look on Perkin's face is freaking priceless. Like a dog waking up after the neutering surgery.

Truly a wonderful dunk. Just debilitating for the defender.

Here's a recent one from Lebron. 1st time I've ever seen a guy dunk over another guy without doing a spread eagle.

LINK DUNK

Watch it again, Perkins was covering the right side and was late getting over, which gave Griffin the space to get a running start from far away. It's not like Perkins was there defending the whole time, but the pass was great and his hand just barely touched the rim. Great dunk.

.-.
Great, but still doesn't quite top:

I saw this one too - the second replay (not in this YouTube video) showed that Harrington grabbed his upper arm and pulled him. Refs missed it.

Caron had the same number of points as Griffin, 22. And Caron was a +16 (best on the Clips) while Grif was a +10.

Those OKC announcers are so one-sided its unreal. It's almost like Tim Brando announcing the UConn TN game.

Personally, I like LeBron's dunk over John Lucas a little bit better. Think about the body control, concentration, and athleticism it takes to run across the baseline, jump over a guy, then still be able to catch it in mid-air with one hand and throw it down while not injuring yourself. Not sure if anybody else can do that.

Blake is like Shawn Kemp-lite IMO, he's not quite on Kemp's level. He's not as acrobatic as Kemp was and both are insane power dunkers. Kemp is the best power dunker of all time IMO, Vince Carter is the best acrobatic.

I don't know what you guys are watching but Blake's dunk was better than all the other dunks listed here and it's not even close.

It was a great dunk, but Lucas is tiny, really tiny. I don't think anyone can get pushed while in mid air and still maintain their power like Blake Griffin. He has big dudes like Perkins try to foul the hell out of him and he still elevates and overpowers them.
