I went to O'rourke's once and thought it was average at best. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
As with most places, it depends on what you order. I generally find that the more adventurous I get with his menu, the greater the reward. And the breakfast meats are always stellar, especially the house-made sausage patty. I was just there a few weeks ago and ordered "Brian's Breakfast," which means you get whatever he feels like putting on your plate. I lost track of everything that was on there, but it included things like: waffle slice topped with pulled pork and bacon; poached egg on top of mushroom/risotto cake, topped with some type of hollandaise-type sauce, and corned beef cracklins; various forms of potato and corned beef items; roasted beets; a piece of some house-made chocolate torte; etc., etc.

Had lunch at Cromwell Diner today, motivated by the comments in this thread. Solid but boring is accurate. Definitely does a brisk business though.
