I wouldn’t hire him for that job even if he wanted it. I can’t say for sure that he wouldn’t succeed, but I don’t think he would. There’s plenty of jobs for him in pro football. If he really wants to coach again and people don’t want to give him the head job, he can be a defensive coordinator.

I think it's possible that he would take that job particularly if there isn't much interest from the NFL. Kraft kind of poisoned the well last year with the Atlanta affair.

Hiring a guy with GM/Cap/Free Agency experience is a smart play considering the portal.

Zowie. I just cannot imagine him going into a recruit's home and begging them to commit.

Not going to happen, he wants to the NFL most wins title, he won't get that at UNC.
I don't think anyone in the NFL wants him. They didn't last year. What's changed? The Pats tough D turning average without him? There must be feelers going out right now. What if he's not feeing it?

Any program or team that'll hire a soon to be 73 year coach needs their heads examined. I don't care how great his past was. It's even worse for him to take a college job that is a multi-year process.

One positive of being on a college campus, he could meet his next girlfriend.

I find it very hard to believe he would want to/be willing to deal with recruiting, portal, NIL etc. I mean, would kids even want to play for him? On the other hand, his style of coaching was very much "my way or the highway" wich typically works better in college than the pros. Seems like a weird and unlikely fit, but i guess one never knows.

With the portal it’s Free Agency. And one would think UNC has resources. I think NFL types would be more comfortable in this space than ever before.

I’d hire him in a heartbeat. His coaching style is perfect for college and he recognizes talent. Wish giants would fire daboll and bring Bill home however.
