OT: Army v. Navy

When I was deployed to Turkey for 6 months in the ‘10s the Turks had an airbase nearby and they used to have F4s passing by. Those old third generation planes look like the are towing boat anchors compared to F-16s/15s and 18s.

More than once I heard F-4's affectionately referred to being a bent schitt can that can fly. Those engines on the Phantom were monsters.

I remember seeing the Blue Angels in F-4s as a kid. Best thing about being a Navy brat was seeing the Blues regularly. Went to HS near Pensacola, so got two shows pretty much every year -- the one at the beach is always great (Phantoms were long gone by then ).

Blue Angels>Thunderbirds

As someone who spent four years on that team, I agree.

A souvenir expended JATO bottle we used to hang on the C-130 Fat Albert.

Summer 2025, one of them came in VERY low over Pensacola Beach pier

(edit because geez, I forgot a key word)

Yep. The Pensacola Beach air show in July. Only about 15' above the pier and about 10' above the railing. And doing about 730-750 mph.

Several years ago, the same manuever blew about 1000 tents up along the beach line.

Watching Army-Navy...does it even matter if we don't have a QB, seems more like we need 3 RBs out there on each play. If we have to have a pass, give the ball to Neider and let him tap into his high school QB skills. ^_^

Anyway, go Navy, beat (physically, mentally, totally) Army!!!

Army looking like a tough opponent so far.

That's why you play 60 minutes. Great second half by Army. Hopefully this close loss to their biggest rival in their biggest game leads a deflated esprit de corps at Wasabi Bowl.

I think they will be pissed at Fenway. That int at midfield was a killer. If the Army player just fell on the Navy fumble instead of trying to scoop it, there might have been a different outcome...
