I'm in need of help identifying the name of a potentially busted part on my car's undercarriage. Would anyone with that kind of knowledge mind giving it a stab if I PM'd them a picture?

Post the picture. There's also a couple sub Reddits to identify things.

Oh, and it's probably a heat shield or a sensor of some kind, or maybe a bomb.

I posted the same picture on my personal social media accounts, and I'm probably the last person here who would want their BY handle tied to their real-world identity.

Yeah but those are in foreign cars, mostly Italian ones.
 
I'm more of an aviation mechanic- It's all ball bearings nowadays.

As for a car, probably a knutter valve stuck.

The knibbler pin went on my last car. Fixed it with a bucket of steam.
 
PM me. Not a professional mechanic but if you daily drive 2 40+ yo. vehicles like I do you wrench on your stuff a lot. Plus I have a friend that owns a salvage yard and one who is one of the best land cruiser restorers in the country so I can always grtgdt info from them.
