If you are a Paul Newman fan Absence of Malice is good. One off my favorites is Sleepers. It has an all star cast and is pretty long.

Can't believe I forgot The Deer Hunter, it might be my favorite movie ever. Also good calls on Stalag 17 and Apocalypto, both are great.

I'm a big Paul Newman fan. I'd say The Hustler is my favorite movie of his.

Speaking of Newman, Cool Hand Luke was his best IMO - awesome movie,

Unforgiven was off the chart great too - the ending had me feeling like I could run through a brick wall.

Deep Throat ...a true classic
You had options with this one. You could have posted this here or apparently, in the OT John Mayer and Guitarist thread according to 91.

Just to name a few:

Independence Day, The Matrix, Die Hard, The Breakfast Club, Field of Dreams, Hoosiers, Lake House, Top Gun, Big, Drumline.

I am going with Forest Gump. Great nostalgia for us old timers from the sixties.

One part of me just wants to play all of these videos at once and see if my computer explodes.
How about Powder, Crash, The Bourne Trilogy, Moulin Rouge, The Natural, The Hunt For Red October, Dave.

Off the top of my head:

Casablanca
The Godfather
A Few Good Men
My Cousin Vinny
Shawshank Redemption
12 Angry Men

and
Uncle Buck just because of this quote

Yours are really up my alley. I'd probably throw in another John Candy, Planes, Trains & Automobiles which was totally awesome.

Great movie to watch with young daughters: Dreamer (I love this movie)

Underrated movie I enjoyed: Frequency

Hilarious movie I was forced to see by my wife and was pleasantly surprised: Ever After

Best guy movie: Bourne anything.

Best older guy comedy: Billy Madison or Tommy Boy.

Best more recent comedy: Old School

Best serious movies: Shawshank Redemption
I'm a big "Frequency" fan and I'm also into both the Bourne Trilogy & the Shawshank Redemption. Great choices.

I just recently added my love of the movie! Charles Grodin was phenomenal in it as was Robert DeNiro. Someone else mentioned Sleepers which was awesome with Brad Pitt and then there was Sneakers with Robert Redford and a really impressive supporting cast. Actually there are too many outstanding movies though lately, maybe not so much.
