OT 2026 NFL playoffs

Going for it there never even should've crossed his mind. Of course the horrible playcall made it even worse. Payton always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and he gave the game away right there even though it was early in the second quarter. I'm happy he lost.
This Pats team has been kissed by a leprachaun.

Skyler Bell could be a number 1 receiver for Denver right and Fagnano could a backup over Stidham right now, I'm sure the Broncos will be signing a backup qb now with real starting experience lol.

Backups are backups for a reason.

I know they hyped Stidham a bit this week, but I didn't see much in him that looked like he had any potential as starter. He ran backwards in the pocket and the first sign of pressure, no calm back there.

You need backups who at the very least have a seasons worth of starts. Pats have Dobbs, Bills have Trubisky, Chiefs have Wentz. Nick Foles did make a pro bowl before with the Eagles.

Maybe there is a benefit there. Not sure any of those guys would have really done much more. I do agree that Stidham felt like the lower end of backup based on what I saw today simply based on his pocket composure.

I know Payton is taking a beating for going for it on 4 and 1 and especially for the play selection. Just awful. I didn't really watch too closely but I could see the rationale if only they ran a play that made sense. Second quarter and a lot of game left and a good chance to go up 14-0. Of course, if they knew a blizzard was coming, and apparently they did, then take the points.

The super bowl already seems anticlimactic.

I think the Seahawks are the best team but if the Rams win Stafford and Mcvay would have a huge mental advantage in a superbowl setting.

This Patriots team is maybe the worst team to ever make a Super Bowl, the worst I can remember but I can't stand Sean Payton's arrogant arse. Somebody had to make it out of a terrible AFC but good lord has New England been lucky on their way to SB.
I don't know about worst team ever - they're only due to be 3.5 underdogs in the SB. There were some BAD AFC teams getting to the SB in the 80s and 90s when the NFC owned them and would be double digit favorites regularly.

They may be the luckiest team I've ever seen. That is for sure.

As a Pats fan, I'd much rather see the Seahawks and Darnold and a first time SB coach. Pats would throw Gonzo on JSN, force Darnold to make mistakes and keep it low scoring.

That's what I'm thinking I feel Vrabel would get it into a rock fight game, experience in superbowls is huge of course the Rams have awful special teams as we see right there. Rams would be battle tested winning 3 road games especially if they were to pull this one out, highly unlikely.

McVay can not put Smith back on the field after a play like that. That is one of the most funked up punt return plays I have ever seen.

They had an inflated record not playing anyone in the regular season and then they've played triage units in the playoffs. Throw in Sean Payton's idiocy and the Patriots are in the Super Bowl. I'm expecting whatever team wins this game to have their QB blow out their knee in the shower and some other top starters to rupture their Achilles walking their dogs.

Once he was on his back, the smartest move would have been to roll over and get out of the way.

These are some of the best athletes in the world, so it is a little suspicious when he trips over his own feet and lets the ball hit him. There is no reason to trust him again.

Yeah, not sure if that's the way coaches operate where you cut a kid loose for a random mistake. I do know LAC is not know for their ST's, Seattles is best in the league.

I do remember Tom Coughlin replacing Will Blackman with Aaron Ross in 2011 NFC championship game once it was the 4th quarter. Blackman had shaky returns all year all Coughlin wanted Ross to do was call a fair catch in the rainy and muddy conditions, sure enough it was Niners who fumbled the PR in OT.

That was 1 dumb penalty can the Rams get a stop because Stafford is dealing right now.

McVay will do what he is going to do. I take the Ace Rothstein (from Casino) approach to really funked up things happening. Either he is too dumb to be in that job, or he did it on purpose.

It appears that McVay shares my opinion of that play.

This is crazy, captured by the moment, hyperbole.
Who was worse? All that's coming to me who is in the running is the Chargers team with Stan Humphries at QB and the Neil O'Donnell Steelers. I wouldn't put the 2011 Giants there despite their record. They already won it years before and had largely the same team.

I do like what you did there but I'm not allowed to like posts.

The Seattle pass rusher has to make that 4th and 1 tackle of a 37 year old QB.

Going for it on 4th and 5 was a mistake. That is a tough first down to get and a FG helps them there.
