In progress on MSG Varsity MSGHV. Channel 714 on Cablevision. High Def. broadcast. Chong looking good. Broadcast repeated at midnight.
They just showed him in the stands. Ossining ahead by 19 at the half.Geno's there...
Sure does. Geno's approach with Chong could be, "Come to Uconn for a rest and some peace & quiet".Their coach makes Geno look mild...
I wish fans that bash Geno for yelling could take a look at some high school & AAU games and see some of those coaches. Most coaches don't yell because they're abusive, they do it because they're intense.Their coach makes Geno look mild...
Just finished watching the 3rd quarter on TV. some observations: she will be able to handle Geno cuz her coach is an absolute screamer. She definitely has offensive skills, good size, long arms, great vision, accurate passer, good crossover, dribbles with both hands. Looks to pass more than to shoot. Now defensively, floats off her man continuously, makes no attempt to recover her man when her man has the ball, seems to want the other team to shoot so they can get the ball back, no defensive stance when straight up defending her man, for someone who looks quick, she gets beat off the dribble easily. Plays for a team that seems to have the old Loyola Marymount attitude about defense-- we will just outscore you. Seems humble to a fault, needs to develope a killer mentality on the court.
With all that said, I am sure Geno could cure all her ills. I predict Stewart will drop 30 on the Ossining team with ease.

I didn't take anything said in this thread as bashing Geno or the Ossining coach. It's obvious both coaches are only interested in the well being of their players.I wish fans that bash Geno for yelling could take a look at some high school & AAU games and see some of those coaches. Hey, Nan. I have a question. Now I know that boy's H.S. basketball coaches have always been loud, partly an attempt to intimidate the Refs. But as I remember, back in the seventies, Girl's H. S. BB coaches were not allowed to say anything to the Refs. Any complaint brought an immediate technical foul. Does anyone else remember back that far? Anyway, when did that change?I wish fans that bash Geno for yelling could take a look at some high school & AAU games and see some of those coaches. I believe J. Gemelos and probably a bunch of others. I've seen it in the men's game too.Trivia question: Has there ever been a womens' hoops HS Coach who just happened to follow his star player onto the staff of the college she elected to go to (dangling whatever)?
THREAD DRIFT ALERT?

I think Nan was just mentioning it due to threads in the past about Geno's loud mouth.I didn't take anything said in this thread as bashing Geno or the Ossining coach. It's obvious both coaches are only interested in the well being of their players.
Yes, DC, you're right. It was a general comment on my part.I think Nan was just mentioning it due to threads in the past about Geno's loud mouth.
btw Nan, very few posters watch HS/AAU basketball so they have no clue
I am sure Morgan Tuck will feel like Geno hates her due to the lack of "enthusiasm" compared to what was showed by coach Smith at Bolingbrook. His sideline antics are not to my liking but he is one hell of a coach.I wish fans that bash Geno for yelling could take a look at some high school & AAU games and see some of those coaches. AL - (oops, think I messsed up in linking this to your quote). ANyhow, yup, I can remember back to the seventies.....think that was when I had my last twinkie. Keep smilin.
Yo ROCKY - this was, of course, intended to help out with your "thread drift alert"......
