In the past, I have quite enjoyed listening to the interviews Chris Jones did with the UConn baseball coaching staff talking about the players on the team prior to the start of the season. Considering the season starts for UConn baseball on Friday, it would seem that if these interviews do happen again, it would seem that the interviews would have to get posted on Twitter the next few days before the 1st game takes place. We'll see if it happens as it has in the past.

Despite winning an unreal percentage of games the second half of the season, the early season OOC road trips doomed us. We have to get off to a better start this year. The good news is the starting weekend rotation looks much more solid, especially if Suchy is healthy and who the staff thought he was starting last year.

I hope Suchy can stay healthy. If I remember correctly, it was an elbow issue. Those don’t just go away.

To me, this is one of my regular disappointments with UConn Athletics. They never seem to capitalize on a hardcore fan’s excitement heading into a new season. Soccer doesn’t even bother, I think Gbandi put out a two minute video the day before the new season and didn’t even mention any players. What’s the deal with baseball? We’re two days before Opening Day and it’s crickets. Last year it was a hastily thrown together conference call with the production quality akin to a can on a string. So bizarre to me.

Interesting that last year's Friday night guy is the #3. Also, I love the fact that we now have 4 named starters. We have had that in our good NCAA runs. I look forward to some great starting pitching and timely hitting.
