Disagree...there are at least 4, maybe more teams that will be ranked on the OOC schedule. Go 4-1 against those 5, win the necessary games in conference = bid.
Regardless of how many W's out of the 5, you don't schedule that kind of iron because "he doesn't think he has a shot..."

Seems like a pretty good OOC set up/opportunities to get in...with no real travel at all.
Sure go 4-1
If you do that you should have 25+ wins and probably be a 4 seed
I’m hoping for 2-3
Hold serve at home in the AAC
Beat everyone we should on the road
and we’re a pretty solid 12 seed

That's why I think it's a good quality schedule...
Go 4-1 against those 5, should be a rock star season.
Even 2-3, holding serve in conference...still gets an invite...

I just disagree with poster that said "it's a crappy schedule" put together this way because "Hurley doesn't think he has a shot"

i agree, its a schedule designed to not break out back but also give us a good chance at making the tourney

If we get to 25-9 I will take my chances.
Teams in the AAC with at most 10 losses after the conference tournament who have missed the NCAA tournament:
SMU 2014 (23-9)
Tulsa 2015 (22-10)
Temple 2015 (23-10)
Houston 2016 (22-9)

SMU 2014 didn't get in specifically because of their terrible non-conf road/neutral record. Their best nonconf road win was against #118 Wyoming.
Ron Wellman, the Wake Forest athletic director and selection committee chair, noted on the selection show that SMU’s non-conference strength of schedule was in the 300s

We are still UConn and that will matter to the committee. If its between us and a smaller basketball school we will get in. They would rather have UConn in the tourny than south Tennessee tech... more eye balls

The OOC sched on tap is NOT going to be "in the 300's"....

SMU that year was also much better than we are likely to be. They were ranked at the end of the year.

If no NCAAT...it's not going to be because of strength of schedule...seems like there's ample opportunity.

We don't play in the Big East anymore. We can't afford to play this many bad teams and no road games. Our conference is weak to begin with and even weaker than last year. On top of that, you don't get better by playing Lafayette; you get better by playing schools like Providence, Texas, and UCLA. We don't need to schedule all top 10 teams, but we should have more mid-level P5 and Big East teams on our schedule. 4-5 powderpuffs is enough. We don't need 8 of them. We get enought of those in conference.
We are also not a winning program anymore. We can’t play a frigging murders row schedule half on the road. Step 1 in a multi step process. Well step 2. Step 1 was getting an actual basketball coach.

You've got Yale, Sacred Heart and Quinnipiac as possible opponents
Seriously...who cares whether it’s UM-Lowell or Quinnipiac or Central? You think we get bragging rights if we win or something? I actually think the Rhody fan isn’t that far off. We are aren’t even a donut team. More like a C. No inside game. No power forward. Long shot to make the NCAA tourney. Might as well win some games and if it plays out that everything comes up roses we go dancing otherwise we take a step forward. Last year’s merry band probably loses 5-6 games against this schedule and the bulk of that crew is back and the additions are untested. This is fine.
