Very excited! Anyone else going? Would be cool to find a place to meet for drinks- make our own Uconn bar sort of thing.

May be a dumb question but is the Thursday game a 1:30 PM local start (which translates into 12:30 EST)? My flight lands at 11:30 and I'm trying to figure out how much of a rush I need to be in once I land.

You are going to have to bogie over to the venue strait from the plane.
PR any suggestions on a good bar in a fun area where we could have a Boneyard meet up?

PR Husky - do you know if the coliseum serves beer and booze? Any good spots right around there to hang out before/after?

Alcohol should definitely be served at the arena, which is located across the street from the largest shopping mall in the Caribbean. Other than that, there is not much around the area.

As for good bars for a Boneyard meetup, nothing that I can think of in the area of the arena. However, there are plenty of nice places to hang-out in the Condado area. Ashford Lounge, a new place located at the Condado Plaza, would be a great option. The Place, about a 5 minute walk, would be a good Plan B.

I think the Ashford Lounge sounds interesting. Condado does have a lot of options. Do we want to pick a time and day- before or after the game ect....?

I can't imagine it will be hard to get tickets. We are staying in Condado which is a fun area. Anyone have thoughts about meeting after a game? I the first game is at 11:30 so meeting after the game might be a bit more responsible and could lead to fun and tomfoolery.

I'm staying in Condado as well. If anyone has restaurants suggestions please pass them along. Also thinking about heading to the rum spot.

The Ritz Carlton has 2 GREAT restaurants.

  • BLT: Famous for their huge hot Popover biscuits that they give you before dinner (you may have gone to the one in Manhattan)
  • Il Mulino New York: Fantastic Italian food experience.
Both are on the pricey side, but well worth it in my opinion.

The Ritz also has a pretty nice intimate casino with free drinks for gamblers & table games like 3 card poker, let it ride, as well as the standards.

Also at the Condado. Must be a bar there where we can gather, right?

That's what I am thinking. I'll look around. PR Husky also suggested a few in the area.

The Ashford Lounge (in the Hiton) seems pretty nice. It's a sports bar with an ocean view. If you guys are interested we could meet there? My friend and I are staying in condo but it is not too far away.

After the game on Thursday?

I am going with a group of friends. Some of which are Dayton and BC guys but still... Very excited! If there is a UConn meet up i'd love to hop in. It would be great to meet some yarders finally.

I have been jealously reading this thread since I am not going down. Am I the only one who cannot believe that one person could have a group of close friends that involves a Uconn fan, a BC fan(so far not to far fetched), and a dayton fan?!?! Probably 75% of people in New England could not tell you what State Dayton is in.

despite my obvious bitterness have a blast!

Given Dayton and bcu are both Catholic schools, possibly someone who went to a Catholic high school. A lot of dumb people exist in some people's group of contacts. They might not know where Dayton is located. 75% sounds high for other people.

Does the place I suggested ( Ashford Lounge) sound good? I thought we could pick a game and meet after. At this point I think we just need to pick a place to meet and a game. The Condado area is fun- good places to eat and drink if we would rather meet somewhere that is not in a hotel- I will however cocktail anywhere.

My experience from multiple final fours, regionals, Maui, bowl games, etc. is that meet ups virtually never work out. The exception is when you do it at the team hotel. Sadly, I won't be in PR because of my fathers recent passing but I highly suggest using the team hotel. Always fun before/after games with players, coaches and alumni around.
