Safely at the Heathrow Marriott, heading into town in the morning. The flight was fine, not crowded. Heathrow is huge and confusing. What did I miss?

What events are you hoping to see? Let us know if Ticket Prices have come down and many events seem to have plenty of empty seats. I would also like to know how local television is covering the Games. Are all events shown live, which could be hurting ticket sales? Thanks

Misty and I go way back--Sydney 2000, before she became a Golden Girl.

I had breakfast in the hotel lounge watching Track and Field. The stadium crowd was large and polite--a Brit athlete got a nice ovation, mostly clapping. The 110 m. heats for the heptathlon were going on. The 2008 Olympic winner won her heat by a small margin. In the first heat, a Polish woman blew away the field by .75 seconds. She looked like a woman among girls. Also ongoing was the shot put. The Polish (?) 2008 winner made the qualifying distance without breaking a sweat.

It's off to the exercise room, then taking the Tube to Green Park. Maybe tea with the Queen later. Liz and I are tight. :)

Having Fish and Chips, Mashed Peas, and a London Pride while waiting for my room to be readied.

This is my first time in London. Initial impressions: crowded and vibrant; fabulous architecture; and no one speaks English. More diversity than D.C. or N.Y.C.

It rained a bit this morning. It's about 70, muggy, some sun and breeze.

I thought I had a conflict with the women's basketball game, but was confused. It's at about 5:00 ET. Beach VB is at 5:00 LT (Greenwich Time, I guess). Oops, my bad!
