On field corporate sponsorships

If we are going all in, we should be like NASCAR with logos all over the field in full out ode to the unmitigated corporatization of college football.

This message about UConn football is brought to you by Stanley Black & Decker and Pez. When you want a sweet snack that brings back fond memories, nobody drills it home better than Pez and Stanley Black & Decker.
Every quarter Coach should change hats with a different sponsor. ^_^

"Wow, the linebacker really hammered the receiver on that catch. And you know who else can deliver hammers, Black and Decker! Black & Decker tools is the proud sponsor of the University of Connecticut Huskies defensive secondary."

A few years ago I was at a high school football game with a good friend to see his kids play and the announcer at the stadium said something to the effect of "And that's a first down as the team crosses over the 50 yard line. And when you cross over the 50 year line you should call Dr. Coldfinger to schedule your colonoscopy." And that was said every time the home team crossed over the 50 yard line.
My friend just so happens to be a GI doctor and his wife was like, "why don't you do advertising like that?".

MC Hammer comes out and dances after every touchdown

It’s like listening to a Yankees game on the radio.

To bad Louie's Lunch isn't bigger than the hamburger bowl or maybe Pepe's field or Mohegan/Foxwoods club house. We need branding and money for NIL

John: Swung and a miss, he's not been having much luck connecting tonight
Susan (said in Craig's impersonation): He's taking batting practice John.
As a Mets fan, I'm going to miss Sterling calling games.

It's named Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field until 2030.

Rent Being Renamed Pratt & Whitney Stadium At Rentschler Field

United Technologies Corp. and the State of Connecticut extended a naming rights agreement in more ways than one Thursday. An original agreement struck in 2000 ran through 2018; this one runs through 2030. And the naming rights extends the name, from Rentschler Field to Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.

As part of the new agreement UTC also will give the state 10 acres of land for additional parking at the stadium as well as provide an easement for the use of 15 acres adjacent to existing stadium parking.

The stadium will gain about 2,500 parking spaces, according to Chris Lawrence of Global Spectrum, which operates the XL Center in Hartford as well as UConn’s football home in East Hartford. Lawrence is the general manager of both venues. The stadium now has 9,000 spaces.

“The additional parking will allow us to utilize more space for larger events,” Lawrence said. “There are two different locations, the majority of which is increasing some of the existing lots.”

You can still put corporate logos on the field.

I love this move. Anything that can bring in more money helps and to have it be linked to NIL doesn't hurt!
We can't find a better sponsor other than our own NIL fund?

Why do I think that the personal injury lawyers, aka ambulance chasers, will find a way to get ads on the field. They're already on 90% of the billboards and the side of every bus.
