Any recognition is great for Ollie and especially for recruiting. Even if he doesn't win any, HS coaches, parents and recruits can certainly see this ex-NBA guy can coach his ass off.

I'm surprised that there is an award named for Joe B. Hall. He was one of those coaches who followed a legend, Adolph Rupp, and his performance at KY was not all that memorable. Wasn't the KY scandal during his watch, too?

Actually, the UConn program owes much to Joe B. Hall. If Hall had bought in to Chuck Aleksinis' belief that the Kentucky offense should revolve around him, The Morris Mountian would never have came to UConn. Without Chuck, the UConn team would have been totally Corny-focused. The program would have improved over time, instead of regressing like it did. Dom might have been able to keep a nice, little mediocre program going and we would have missed JC's window.

Not a single coach in a high major conference.

Richard Pitino (FIU) Should be disqualified based on his name alone. 16-13 Sun Belt. Key win - I don't know. I don't even recognize most of the teams they played against.
Nick Robinson (Southern Utah) 11-18 Big Sky. Key win Nobody. I think he is here as the token west coast entrant.
Travis Williams (Tennessee State)18-13 OVC. Key win. Beat a solid Eastern Kentucky team in the league tourney.
Kevin Ollie (UConn) 19-10 Big East Key wins: MSU, Syracuse, ND. With a depleted squad playing for nothing but pride.
Unless Tennesse state wins their conference tourney, it should be KO in a runaway, and even if they do, he should still win.

Using the criteria set on this board earlier this season, that's pretty impressive. Ollie only beat Q once and that was in 2OT.

But Ollie didn't lose to them at all. KO won 100% of his games against them. Perri won only 66.66%. Your argument is invalid.
