32-25 Baylor. OU has played well but can't get any 50/50 calls. They will not be a cakewalk...I could see another 76-64 game in Norman.

Next to the New Hampshire coach, Coale is the most gorgeous HC in women's basketball.

These refs are killing Oklahoma. This is a joke; they just missed an obvious foul on Sims.

Maybe I am alone with this opinion, but I simply do not buy into the prevailing view that has Baylor is clearly the best team in the country. They have not beaten anyone on the road except TN and they almost lost to UConn at home. I have yet to see them look like a great team. Griner is obviously the best player in the game, and Sims is a very good guard, etc. but they never seem to be as good a team as they could be.

I think they are very beatable by UConn or ND on a neutral court. Toss up game in both cases IMO.

Up on OU by 11 at home? They should be up by at least 20, OU should not be in this game.

Agree and they just missed an obvious charge by Pope, followed by another offensive foul by Pope.

Like Geno says, you've got to have an All-American player to be perceived as #1. Griner is everybody's default All-American.

If my memory serves me correctly, UCONN was only ahead of unranked USF by 3 at the half at home not too long ago.

You get called the best when you have beaten everyone else. Are they CLEARLY the best team? No. Have they proven to be the best team so far? Yes.

I agree that games against Notre Dame and UCONN on an neurtral court are a toss-up. Commentators like to build things up to be bigger than they are. It gives them something to sound excited about.

I will say that Baylor tends to play up and down to their competition. UCONN is more consistent against the lesser teams than Baylor is.

For anyone who thinks that anyone other than Griner is the POY, I hope they are watching this game. TOTAL DOMINATION

The big girl is playing her ass off tonight.

11 turned into 31 very quickly

Baylor is #1 because they beat UConn and ND and haven't lost yet this year. No, they are not the juggernaut of UConn 2008-09 or 2009-10, but they have the skins on the wall and the most unique player in the game.

On a neutral court, yes, they can lose, but if you put a gun to my head and say pick who's winning it all and my life depends on being right, I'm saying Baylor. But since no gun is to my head, I can root for UConn in unconflicted fashion should they meet again. :)

Yup. Your team is very impressive this half.

But you were right. They did not look great the first half. They have a tendency to coast in the first half too often and then turn it up in the second half.

It's a bad habit that can develop when you go long stretches without playing anyone who has any real chance of winning.

I hate that Griner came out when she did. She was headed for a triple double. Had this been Sherri Coale, she would have left Courtney Paris in until the last second of the game to ensure that she got her double double.

Hey ETT, Mulkey's daughter is a pretty good player! What's with the different last name? Just curious.

On edit... not so good at the FT line, however.

Mulkey was previously married and was Kim Mulkey-Robertson for some time. She has since gone back to her maiden name of Mulkey. I loved Mulkey's comment at Big 12 media day this year when asked about playing TAMU after they leave the Big 12. She said something to the effect of "don't divorce me and then say you want to have sex with me." She is a colorful lady...as demonstrated by her pink jacket tonight.

Robertson was a great FT shooter in high school and was 3-3 before tonight. One of those nights, I guess.

It's only Baylor and not really that important in the Big East right now.
UConn has other fish to fry long before worrying about Baylor.

Stuff like that doesn't mean a thing at UCONN; just one of the factors that sets us apart from the others.
