I don't mind the new schools, its the old guard that annoys me. Plus I want to see Smart take an L to ease up the media knob slobbing.Want to root for the upset, but also don't want to root for the NBE.
Butler was already a good program with tourney moments before Stevens. I don't see national championship game appearances in their future but I think they'll will remain a solid program going forward that will be tourney caliber on a consistent basis. In my mind, the NBE brought in Butler, Creighton, and Xavier in an attempt to solidify the top of the conference. They need solid OOC wins by those teams.
I think Butler is going to disappear pretty quickly from the national stage without the large national programs carrying the league and without their young "coach of the moment" who jumped ship.
Marcus Smart was incredible right up until the game got really tight. At that point is started chucking some horrendous shots, one of them being a 3 pointer about five feet behind the NBA line, and had a huge turnover very late in the game. And then there were 3 missed free throws in a row when the game was on the line, none of them even close to going in.Marcus Smart is incredible but OK St seemed a bit undisciplined. A lot of low percentage shots early in the shot clock with a comfortable lead let Butler back in it. Nobody could make a foul shot.

Being a front runner is great when, you know, you're in front by a comfortable margin. Not so much when the game is on the line. Not everyone can be Shabazz
