I gotta ask... WTF happened to Chief? Last 22 games of the season and Chief's Briefs is AWOL.

Now, he may have experienced some flavor of Gene Hackman end of life episode, which we all hope not.

Nonetheless, WTF is Chief?

He suggested a specific player should transfer. Even after 27 years some people think I'm not serious about respecting each player's privacy. Every player is a husky until s/he declares otherwise.

Even Hurley wasn't stupid enough to mention who is looking to leave.

Anyone really hyped for a UCONN DUKE matchup if that happens? This years duke team is great, but if anyone will put their bid for 6 to ash I hope its us .. or more likely they beat us and I'm fine if they win it all

I've never seen the discussion boundaries so stretched (under so many different guises of plausibly allowable speculation) as they were in the days surrounding the St John's game.


Even appreciation threads devolved into target practice that emphasized imperfections and the like.

The overall vibe was akin to the time that had relaxed profanity restrictions on Fridays (if I'm remembering correctly that something like this existed for a time). I hated it.

It's no surprise that winning has helped.

Honestly? No, not this year. If the UConn 2023 or 2024 could player this year's Duke team, sure, both UConn teams would come out ahead. Or if those UConn teams could play the Duke teams in their respective years, sure (I think UConn last year would've smashed Duke).

But this year's UConn team against Duke? No. I think UConn would struggle immensely against Duke's defense.

Depends on the circumstances. We remain on a 12-0 run in the dance and 3-0 in Big East tourney runs as of now.

If we face Duke in Raleigh as an 8 it means we didn't win the Big East. (And I think the committee looks down on having Top conference winners face each other in Round 1 or 2).

If we are a 7 by virtue of winning 2 more and a close one with St. John's we will face Duke in Newark which I would love to see. 20 min PATH ride and I'm in Newark!

If we are a 7 by virtue of winning the Big East tournament and are on a 9-0 run heading to the dance on a 12-0 tear there, no one wants to play us.

Edit: I have seen Duke play in the NCAA tourney once - loss to NC State in last year's Elite 8 in Dallas; I have watched UConn in 13 NCAA tourney games total, and we won all of them. Not saying I am the good luck charm, but I saw 2 games this year regular season (@Texas, vs. Gonzaga) and had tickets to @Seton Hall but gave them up as had a family event and well they lost. Let's test my luck this Thursday as I will be in sec 107 for both evening games!

I'd love it. When you think of our program way back when Laettner destroyed the Dream Season and how we were begging for a FF.....then fast forward to now where maybe they have a little catching up to do, at least recently, to us? I'd welcome the dynamic of us vs them.
