On April 15 a new thread will open featuring a very scientific poll debating the starters for next season. The binding sealed results of the poll will be delivered to Geno prior to the first practice. As a employee of the State of CT, Geno is obligated to start the players designated. Your vote really does matter so be sure to vote as often as possible.

This is the easiest poll of all time. It will be Gabby, Naphessa, Katie, Kia and Soniya. Soniya will be replaced by Crustal in the flash of an eye.
That's it. What debate could there possibly be?

Since this is my first full season on the BY, I am looking for tips on how to break the addiction to checking the Boneyard multiple times per day, now that the season is over. I know we can talk about certain topics or off topics until we a "blue" in the face, but I need to get a life and maybe do something a bit more productive in the off season.

I'm sure many of you can come up with some creative strategies.....fire away!
I don't understand. Why would you want to break that addiction?

Violation! You cannot cast a vote until the poll officially opens. What don't you understand about NOT before April 15th?

"Speaking of lurkers, we've traditionally held a Lurker Day, where only folks with less than 75 posts can post on the board. It's to encourage lurkers to become more comfortable and get used to the board."

So proud of my lurker status, but I am approaching 75 posts! Almost full fledged!!

Stewie will still be a big topic... as she starts her WNBA career... we'll talk about how KML "looks".

should be interesting in the W since the "superstars" will be training and playing in the Olympics... which may include Stewie!

Im sure I'll start many OT's

There are numerous possibilities to keep us engaged and informed all the way till first night and the start of the 2016/17 season.
I'll list some of them in somewhat chronological order.

April - Victory Parade, WNBA draft, open recruiting period- Who will visit Storrs?
May - Start of WNBA, summer plans for current players, Olympic team final roster
May - September WNBA season minus the month off for the Olympics
June - Summer school for current and incoming Freshmen
July- USA basketball tournaments
August- Olympics, 16/17 schedule announced, season tickets on sale
September- Serious speculation on starting line-up. i.e. How much has Natalie improved over the summer?
October - Everything begins again

Not an exhaustive list, however there should be something new on the boneyard daily to keep us going!
What kind of insights are available for, " summer plans for current players?" I am not so much talking about the big names, bu more the Butlers and the Ekmarks and Soniya

You can pray all you want, but it is not going to happen. Remember A'ja Wilson? It was pretty easy to discern by her comments and approach, during the recruiting process, that she was not going to UCONN. Megan Walker is similar. Kids that want UCONN, and all it represents, do not announce to the world that they, " have narrowed the choice to 4 schools."

The people who want UCONN simply commit to UCONN. We'll get a top talent when that top talent really wants to be here.

But Walker will go to ND. ND is building a powerhouse with several of the top players in the US. They are trying to match the recruiting core of Stewie, Tuck and Moriah at UCONN. No one will get that quality for a long while, but ND is already very close. Adding Walker would give them the edge.

A lot of aau girls basketball is played over the summer and we get to read about superlative performances and hope that person is being seen by our coaches.Hopefully some of the folks who post here go to some of these events where good players get to compete with other good players and we can get first hand opinions that they share with the rest of us.At that point we post things like:"Go git er'Geno"when someone stands out against their peers.Last summer a little known run of the mill player named Lexi Gordon exploded on the scene in what the experts called the greatest year over year improvement they had ever seen.In 2017 we will see 2 more years of improvement in Uconn blue.Who will explode on the scene this year and will they be heading our way? Stay tuned.

See, it's easy and you feel good, right? Admit it, you feel good.

“He was like, `No way. You’re kidding me.’ I was like, `Nope. I’m serious,’’’ Espinoza-Hunter said. “And he gave me a really big hug. It was a great moment. After just watching the Duke game seeing the team and the chemistry, and even though they were up they still weren’t playing at their full potential, how everyone was picking each other up and the coaching staff … Just seeing everything and I just realized I wanted to be a part of this. And I know that being a part of this there are many sacrifices you have to make. You’re going to get pushed. You’re going to get yelled at. All of these things are going to happen. And I just knew that I wanted to be a part of it. What I especially love is how Geno’s going to push you to become the best player that you can possibly be and I just love that about a coach.’’

Espinoza-Hunter knew time was right to commit to UConn

"About two weeks ago I had my home visit with Coach Geno and Coach Marissa and it went really well. My mom, step-dad and grandpa were all there and it was a blast. I loved having the coaches visit, talking and having lunch with them. I also made them some homemade empanadas which coach said were delicious. After talking to the coaches that day I realized that I cannot wait to go to Connecticut and strive to not only become a better person on and off the court, but to help the team and others around me become better. Coming up next week, is UConn’s “First Night”, and I’m so excited to get back on campus to see all the girls and coaches! I feel as if it’s been forever since I’ve seen everyone, well not coach Geno and Marissa since I saw them not too long ago. I talked to Coach Shea yesterday night and she told me that they’re having a glow in the dark theme, so it should be pretty interesting. Last year was the first time I ever went to first night and it was amazing ! I got to hang out with Crystal Dangerfield ( 2016 UConn PG commit ). Megan Walker ( priority 2017 UConn target – #1 ranked player in class by espnW ) and De’janae Boykin ( current UConn freshman )during the whole visit. I’ll never forget during first night, they played a song and De’janae grabbed all of us and brought us to center court and we all danced together, which was fun and a little embarrassing. I cannot wait until I’m at Connecticut and can wear “UCONN” across my chest." - See more at: 2017's ANDRA ESPINOZA - HUNTER : " Get to Know Me " - Monthly Diary - WiseEYEsports

Common, you feel good, right?
