Last years game and this years game will be all about getting off the field on defense. We scored on most of our possessions, but so did they and there weren't many on either side.

14-10 going into the half, 31-17 UCONN to finish. Defense or special teams come up with a TD. We have 150 total yards on the ground and 250 in the air.

34-17 Huskies. I think we could score more but that depends on getting Army off the field.

Well I predicted 23-16 in the opener and it was 20-15. So everyone should listen up.....It's going to be 31-14 UCONN. That is all.

So the score will end up 28-13 UCONN ;)

Tommy Awesome gets another TD

Army men in awe of our Johson.

Shirreffs trump Generals.

We still can't stop BIG plays of third and long with traditional college offenses.......something you think we'd be good at.....by now. Nor can we stop mobile, scrambling QB's.

That being said, you really can't practice against a triple option when your team isn't versed in replicating that type of offense. Especially if none of your players experienced that type of offensive scheme in high school. We don't recruit triple option players. And you don't learn it in a week.

Because of schemes the team is not familiar with, this may be a tougher game than Villanova. Army will score....just hope UConn's offense will score more and keep Army off the field.

Another close game.

UConn hasn't proven yet that they can stop the triple option. Until they do I have to believe this will be a shootout that UConn wins in the end. 33-27.

This game will be very revealing as to whether the Navy game is winnable or not. If this game is close, then the odds of beating Navy aren't good.

I think UConn 31-17. I think the defense controls most of the game even better than that but there will be at least one drive where they get gashed for big yards and a seemingly easy TD.

.-.
I dunno about this game, I was more confident against Villanova than I am for Army, the option made us look like a high school team last time out.

If we win, I think it's a fairly high scoring game and close. Maybe 27-24 UConn.

If this tweet is the case for our game I expect to see a moderately easy win (whatever the hell that means).

Army coach Jeff Monken said that 43 of 72 players who dressed in Fordham game were freshmen

I hope Army's upper classmen that didn't dress are "triple optioning" the Afghanistan Taliban right off the earth

I felt better about Villanova then I do against Army. Army does not have much of a kicking game so they tend to go on 4th down a lot. I think we play good defense, but although we move the ball well, we don't finish all of our drives. We will finish enough to win but I don't see us getting 70+...

23-14 UConn

PS - it does not matter if you win by 1 or 100 either way it is one in the win column.

I think UConn will do a better job this week not giving up ridiculous third-down-and-long conversions, which will give them more opportunities to start in good field position. I like them to hit 30 points, again focusing on hitting the tight ends in the passing game. Johnson looked very good against Nova, and as long as the Huskies keep the defense honest, he should find some nice holes. Army will make a few big plays, but I think UConn wins comfortably. I'll say 33-19.

So nice opening my ESPN app this morning and seeing UCONN favored. Has been a while.

We will win. Don't care about the score. Nice to not be worried about it. We will just handle our business.

Against "Nova, all that mattered was getting the W. I'm not going to judge our D this game, because it is an option team, but on offense I want to see more yards gained to go along with the limiting of mistakes and finishing of drives we saw last week. I don't want this game not to be decided until the end. This week I want to see a comfortable victory against a team that I don't think would give 'Nova a game on a neutral field.

A lot of the players on last year's defense had their first dose of Army's option as well as our coaches. I'm confident adjustments will be made. And our ability to string together a few first downs will be huge. Another week's practice for our new QB, new OL personnel and new OC bodes well for this week.

I've got UConn -7, so I'll go UConn 31-21. 2-0 would be glorious...it's been a while...

If you tell me we can defense the option well, 24-7.

If you tell me we can defense it a little bit, 24-21.

If you tell me we can't, then I'm furious, 17-21

Our coaches knew what to do last year, but getting the players to do it was another matter, mentally and physically.

When Army pitched last year the blockers then totally took out our LBs and DE. I think we have better strength and technique this year. Hopefully they learned a bit from last year's game on how to read the plays better.

Also good that we can work out the kinks defending the option against Army in a winnable game so that we have a fair shot at stopping Navy.

There is a revenge factor and this UCONN team knows this is an important game. This one will not be overlooked.

Johnson pounds away for 100+ and that opens up the passing game for Sherriffs and crew. I think either the defense or specials gets a TD. The defense does a nice job with the option.

31-10 and 2-0. It's a start.

Uconn 20-10
