is there anyone on this board that really thinks having three freshmen QB's is a good idea? If you do, then I am sorry to bother you. All I know is that he was deeply dissapointed when he woke up, now he is just angry, but he still holds the golden ticket in the form of a loi to Uconn and there is not a damn thing anyone can do about that.

I guess it depends on how good the third QB to commit is. If he is really good, it will work out for him.

If he isn't, it won't work out.

Next year, there will be 3 or 4 QB's after Whitmer graduates. I don't think thats too many.

You have way overrated the weight I put on anonymous public posters. And it is Lagow. If you are going to anonymously insult me at least get my name right. You can cut and paste it for goodness sake. :)

My apologies Mr. Lagow. Either, way, I wish the best for your son in the future whether that is at uconn or anywhere else. Everyone has to do what is in their best interests. This is college football recruiting, so anything is possible. Evidenced by the kid that got the auburn tattoo, then switched to Alabama.

But let me ask you this. What is more important, winning and being part of a team and a close knit community, or is everything about playing time and exposure. Tom Brady was a back-up at Michigan for a while. There was a kid at the senior bowl this year, that didn't start til mid season of his senior year, but he's gonna go to the NFL. Its hard to project into the future with any certainty. However, a top notch education has great value. If Richard were to red-shirt, and considering the opportunity to take summer classes there is the chance he might be able to complete even his master's degree free of cost at a top public university. Couple this with the life long friendships that can be forged and the experience of going out on his own, it would be a great experience for him.

Mr. Lagow, just curious (if you're still here). Was your son promised anything regarding # of Qb commits to this year's class or did you request anything regarding the # of commits to this class at any point since last summer?

Also, have you had any contact at all with any coaches in the last 24-48 hours?
Let me try this, because I really like the school and program, so tolerate me for a minute longer......

Lets say a date asks you to the movie and says you are the best looking person, their favorite, could not be happier if you went, and you were the one and only.........you get in the car thinking things are great and the date say that you have to go to another stop and the date gets out and picks up another date.........you are now wondering what kind of date you are on and the date says to pull over, you pull over and the date gets another date and tells you to keep going........now you are really wondering what kind of weird ass date you are on and if you don't pause just a second to reconsider your status in the date, then you deserve whatever weirdness comes next. Now imagine you are an 18 year old kid and the road to this date took you far away from what you knew as home.

Does anyone really think they would do differently? Should concern be for the date that got in the car first or last. :) sorry, that is the best I can do because I am as tired as anyome.

Wait, did someone get upset about the coaches tie? I have only been able to read some of the posts during my breaks, cant wait to go home to read them all.

"Unfortunately I will no longer be attending junior day at UCONN because Coach P wore a red tie during signing day".

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

yup i am. its not about recruits. recruits dont pick schools on ties. thats just another stupid post by some one here who doesn't want to adress the issue. its culture that needs to change and it starts with the big heads. coach wears blue becuase he wants to see fans wear blue and so on down the line. its a sign of unity. when he goes to hs games and wears that stpid trench coat i sometimes want to rip it off his back and burn it. is it cold out? sure stay warm, put on 10 layers with the last being something uconn so that u spread the culture and awareness. the people u recongize u are not the people u need to worry about. its the random fans and kid who dont know who u are and can't tell by what your wearing. thats where repping the brand helps.

but u guys just keep making funy little comment sbecuase u think all of the things i mention and am mad about are worthless. then u guys are the first to post up here about fans at the rent this and that. why should a wife of a fan have to wear blue to the rent? the frucking coach didn't have any blue on at the signing day presser.

Are you trolling or something? Everybody who went through the trouble of pulling that press conference up on their computer to sit through it and watch is a die-hard UConn fan.wrong, several commits watched it with large groups of friends in librarys of there schools. we made a great impression on those kids to buy tickets today didn't we?!?!?! The parents of the recruits just had UConn/Pasqualoni take a HUGE financial burden off of their shoulders, giving them what amounts to about a 100 grand scholarship. Do you really think they give a flying duck about what kind of tie Pasqualoni is wearing or if there's a picture of a husky behind him? no i don't, what i think they cared about was what he was going to say about there kids. and what did he say? oh well mcnabb redshirted cole tall close tall..... yea real solid delivery on that...

Do you think that their friends(who I doubt are even watching) think about Pasqualoni not wearing a school polo for a second? Do you think they say "damn, that coach has a red tie on, I definitely can't root for them now even though one of my best friends is on the team"? setting culture. no one looked at P and said why the red tie(acept for me and others in this boat). they just looked at P and thought nothing. thats the whole point. what we need is for people to look at P, KO, Warde and so on and say i like that blue polo or check out the uconn sawg hes got on or just notice hes wearing blue and say, #bleedblue or w/e #. its about breeding culture and giving peoiple something to look at and then copy. the old tosu coach, remember the vest? its just a vest. well it became part of culture. all u old farts here just dont understand and never will and will always fight me on this. congrats, your all just sinking uconn just as much as the current leadership is. then u want to complain about CR to boot.

I would give your "first impression/brand power" crusade a little more credence if people actually gave a about some of the things you have suggested. exactly...^^^

But tell us more about how we don't know anything and how awesome you'd be at running a D-1 athletic department. i am no one special, not a smart ass guy but not a homeless person either. but most here seem to live under 1990's uconn painted rocks. you all complain about how jeff hathaway ran this place into the ground and then when change needs to happen u act like the guy and say its bad and its bs and ignore it.

yes, im a huge troll. thats it. great job figuring me out after all this time.

Didn't Calhoun talk about all his past great players. Non stop. It seemed like he did ok.

And honestly, I am not up on the ties he wore. But I would love to know if you approved of them.

JC won games, recruited his ass off with a gravel parking lot as our facility and then won championships. most his former players were uconn players that he talked about. i was pretty young back then but the players from NE he talked about were slim and little from what i understand and as soon as he could he changed his tune to uconn guys. sio is going to get drafted soon, how come he couldnt say jalen stevens has sio potential instead of his mcnabb-cole duzie of a zinger? stuff like that. its not like NE was a rival of uconn who just shafted uconn like cuse just did. considering everything going on right now, even mentioning cuse was wrong in any way and it also caused a scene as one beat writer cummed in his pants.

Yeah. We just signed our best class ever. And we fumbled it all away with wardrobe choices.

Really? You that dumb?

its our best class ever no doubt. u just like others here take everything i say and mash it together becuase u cant grasp the stuff im talking about on different levels. eerything is jsut one picture. the class is great. whats not great is how we present and pump it. thats a issue that needs to be adressed. but ppl like u are willing to overlook that aspect becuase u dont have the balls to adress it or know how to. im not sure which but both make u not capable of caring clearly. do u think todays presser would pass at pus? mich? fl? bama? texas? wvu? i dont think so for one second. if were not aiming to be like them, then why are we even here or trying to play fball??????

JC: clearly, quite frankly, terrific terrific
RE: ...and things...
PP: 'kay, y'know, 'kay, 'yknow?

PP can talk straight baby gaga if he wants when he hangs up national championship banners in burton. until then he can get his act together. he doesn't need to have buggers coming out of his nose on the sideline in october and not wipe them off or have his crony gld spitting as he talks in recruits faces while looking thru old man glasses that just make his wardroble awkard to begin with.

That's probably a wife thing.

"You are going to be on tv? Well wear the red tie, it give you some color and makes you look like you are still alive."

well then being a idiot runs in that family. but then how does he actually get into the building and the ad or a pr person look at him and say wait a sec, red tier not blue? shirt color? how about a doggy pin? something? everyone around in that ad is as clueless as P and his wife i guess. maybe next week warde can wear maroon and gold to a meeting so all the uconn beat writers who are bc grads can cum there pants.

He never stopped talking about Reggie Lewis. Talked about him all the time.

And NE kicked the snot out of UCONN before he came here. So, we weren't a rival with them. They were at a higher level than us. Not as good a conference, but a better program.

LOL..
I do get that to a point..although going on 2 dates at once from a football standpoint is probably more likely than from a dating standpoint (at least I hope so!)

Regardless, I hope everything goes well for your son and ultimately I hope he is at peace with whatever decision he makes and what the hell, I still hope its at UConn. There's nothing that says he won't be the QB in 2 years.

Unfortunately in recruiting it's more like the a pimp telling you that you're his favorite girl and someone believing that without a shadow of a doubt. Everyone that plays the pimp/ho game knows ultimately the girl that's his best girl is the one that will make him the most money. Substitute Program for Pimp, Player for Girl and Victories for Money and you've kind of got recruiting nailed. Ugly analogy, but pretty close to the truth.

A girl would expect to be exclusive and would thrive on that.

A QB would expect to have competition and would thrive on that.

ok good, when we add umass we should add northeastern to the big east also. then when umass builds a progrma and passes us and gets a invite somewhere and throws rocks at us on the way out, our fball coach then can have a signing day where he wears a maroon shirt and talks about victor cruz. i can see the future now....

I think that maybe everyone is assuming he broke a commitment. He still hold the loi and has not de-committed. So, where is the fly in the ointment? You have to think this through before throwing an 18 year old under the bus when he has not taken one single college visit since committing.
I never said he broke his commitment, that post responded to another's question of how I would handle it, if it were my kid.

However, since you brought it up. He didn't sign it yet either. So, until he does I will continue to stand by my conspiracy theory. Which I might add, you haven't actually denied.

Wow this has gotten uglier than I even imagined. And I thought this was gonna get brutally ugly the minute Lagow's father started posting.

I don't think I could stand reading it yet alone participating in it or engaging in it.

People have only one spouse/girlfriend. BCS schools have 4-5 QBs. That's where the analogy breaks down.

Also, Kivon Taylor turns out to be a safety/athlete recruit so we're back to having 3 QBs and hoping we get Richard as a 4th. Not 4th in status, equal in status and opportunity, but 4th in chronology of signing.
